I understand your concern with that regard, but we are unprecedented times (obviously our drug is beyond unprecedented:-)), however I think this is going too big a story.
I remember Motley Fool giving SNG a pretty rubbish right up in April, I also realised I knew more about the company than the author and took no notice.
I think it’s got massive potential as a flu drug. Also this winter if you get flu and Covid, you could be in big trouble as Covid suppresses the interferon response meaning the flu virus will run unchecked. Could well be a very deadly combo.
RE: SAFETY ISSUE - NO ISSUE; Home Trials ending end Summer difficult to expedite26 Jul 2020 09:46
I think we only started the home trial because of the concern about early delivery of the drug. We now have a very surprising out come to the hospital trial that indicates that fear is unwarranted. I don’t think the world can wait on a home trial unless it can be speeded up. That’s my view, I just can’t see it.
I think the home trials have become less important, I think they were initiated because of the worry Interferon needed to be taken early. We don’t really have time for them, we could do with the COPD data double quick to back up the safety argument.
I don’t think SNG will be taken over. I think licensing is much more likely. Aren’t British pharmas protected at the moment? If so that would give AZN a strong hand, we would be better licensing it to the world, best way to ramp up production as well.
It’s not about the drug having to be cheap it’s about America only paying the same as other countries. This worries me quite a lot because I’m guessing poorer countries may end up paying more for drugs.
