In this case resignation is a specific legal term and triggers the 10 day processing window you see in the filing history because "Resignation" is generally seen as a bad thing (as opposed to retirement or removal) and hints at an issue with accounts, and if they are resigning because of an issue with the accounting then they must disclose their concerns.
"Where there are matters connected with an auditor's ceasing to hold office that the auditor considers need to be brought to the attention of members or creditors of the company, the statement under this section must include details of those matters."
