How do you even estimate the impact of this? The funding is a certain amount but there is still uncertainty with regards to development of the mine and reaching production, plus the vast majority of the money will all go towards setting up the mines anyway so perhaps it's unreasonable to suggest the market cap should increase by the value of the funding amount as that cash is already mostly accounted for. On the other hand the funding is what unlocks the real value so actually the value after receiving that funding IMO is wayyyy way more than just the cash value, even before anything has happened with it. I want 1.5p before I start unloading, so I'm gonna jump to the somewhat arbitrary conclusion that we'll top out at about 1.5p during November. No maths. Just a random guess based on what I want to happen.

I think we're roughly saying the same thing. Money expected by first half of November, but Mali Govt just "as soon as possible" i.e. we don't know.

Don't get me wrong here, I think this is a very positive update (and disappointed that my buys didn't go through faster this morning). I just don't think that this is quite the completion RNS we were all hoping for or expecting.

What I got from the RNS is just that Hainan are still committed. So much so, that they're willing to go ahead with transfer of funds despite not meeting all originally agreed conditions. It seems the remaining conditions are out of our hands, but ultimately we can't start mining until all of this is done. So what has changed? We already knew they were committed, and just waiting on Mali gov. There's no update from DNMG and we don't actually have the bulk of the money from Hainan yet so this feels like small progress and mostly just confirms Hainan's intent rather than any significant progress? I guess it means we can make a start on the roads and long lead stuff but ultimately it could still all come crashing down or be subject to changes or even be denied or held up indefinitely by Mali Govt?

Or am I reading it wrong?

Wishful thinking... At best I'd say it's speculation that the price will go up a bit when the RNS regardless of the content. Maybe I'll buy a few more shares myself...

If this all comes undone, my disappointment will be split 50/50 between losing my life savings and this c*** johnny having been right.

They said the other week that those Chinese fellas won't be allowed home until we get the money. It is somewhat concerning that we've gotten to the point of taking hostages for ransom.

Not overly worried myself. I bought a few more Kodak Mining shares in the .60s today, but I am naive and don't really know what to make of this Russia stuff. Would love some input from somebody who understands global politics and how this revelation could affect Kodak's plans. I saw some helpful posts here recently from a user who seemed to know what he was talking about - knowledgable and non-biased for a change! Would love his thoughts! I think his username was johnny or something?

So I dont know a lot about investing, mining or how AIM tends to work but I've just been wondering since the RNS a couple of weeks back - if Hainan have agreed to subscribe at 0.5p that's them saying that this stock is going to be worth at least 0.5p right, otherwise it would be a bad investment. If a company of their size is willing to throw so much investment capital at Bougouni/Kodal and pay 0.5p per share following what I imagine was significant close up due diligence presumably carried out by teams of domain and legal experts, how does that not instil enough confidence for the price to instantly reach or at least get close to 0.5p? Am I completely misunderstanding the significance of the 0.5p subscription?

Pullback was necessary for me to get a few more shares, that's all. I got them so it's ok now everyone, price can go back up. Thanks for your cooperation.

Yeah I am disappointed how it's turned into such a toxic forum recently. Obviously Mr008 is trying to scare people away from Kodal for some reason. Dunno why - maybe he shorted it and now his life/marriage/home/car/job/retirement/drug habit depends on Kodal failing? Poor guy... Anyway, I don't think badmouthing a stock on here is going to move the price or affect the company in any significant way so I don't mind him trying if it makes him feel better. I will say that some people are providing nice counter arguments which make for interesting reading (thanks for this).

I'm just enjoying finally having some luck with an AIM stock. KOD is my biggest individual holding apart from ETFs so I'm happy it's on the rise and is looking positive. Hoping for a nice return over the long term :)
