Article in today’s Business Post by BOA analyst is bullish on the Irish pillar banks and their cheap deposits, TP BOI is €18 & AIB €10.40.

AIB knocking out an avg of 500k BB a day, BOI weak sauce dripping away at avg 50k a day🤦‍♂️

I hear you John, but the Irish banks have to be some of the most insular going, no real involvement outside of Ireland, even BOI exiting it’s UK / US bits and pieces, no borrowing on the money markets, stuffed full of long term local deposits, most of their income from that and mortgages in a country with a housing shortage, with no real commercial loans to international players and only lending to domestic blue chips, despite all the huffing & puffing - no real competition! It’s hard to see why they move like penny shares!

Mad as it may sound….this war in Iran may cause a spike in interest rates…..and therefore good for the deposit stuffed Irish banks!
