Irrelevant because DEV are the developer/producer not the retailer. We covered this already, there’s enough geeks out there with massive followings already, better to get them onside and piggyback to reach out to end users.

Themis, My thoughts on the marketing budget in relation to Vanguard.

I think it's entirely possible to promote a game by giving promo copies to bloggers, journos and influencers, and by being very active on social channels - free publicity that can gather momentum if done properly and IMO more powerful than expensive sponsored content.

Additional marketing will come from the retailers and distributors, ie. Steam. Plus Dev have already been active in taking the game out on the road showing it off to the public and trade.

A prudent approach to marketing is no bad thing at this stage.

I'm bullish on DEV but happy to see it tick up steadily as serious investors accumulate on good fundamentals. Too much hype will just draw in the AIM 10% mob and make things tiresome for LTHs

Another example - FDEV - pure game developer - £344.80m mcap (peaked at double that last year)
Obviously they're a very established business with 400 staff but it shows the way forward for the gaming side.
And, as you both point out TG91, TV, - DEV don't have all their eggs in one basket with four distinct markets to expand into. Glad to be invested, will be adding when funds allow.

I like the idea of pay-per-play at leisure venues. Expands the market of players beyond only those that can afford their own VR headset. Good signs here that the company are thinking big. Compared to mcap of other listed game developers this is still a minnow with phenomenal growth potential. DYOR
