The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Bespoke: Yes my mistake, there is dilution - but no payment is required for any shares that the Investor continues to hold at the Relevant Assessment Date. On the basis that the Perseverance #1 well spuds on 20 December 2020, the Relevant Assessment Date would be 18 February 2021. There is no capacity for any such payment to be made in the form of shares, such that the level of dilution to BPC under the Funding Agreement is fixed and knowable.

These delayed publication trades distort the actual market situation.
Also I note no dilution from the recent fund raising.
Young-gun2000 - just put the paid share basherss/derampers on Filters - it gets rid of useless noise. I have about twenty on Filters and I am much happier for it.
Re somm:
This target has nine possible zones of interest and any one or several strikes would be massive - that is the difference.
TRP-BPC The Stena Icemax has no need to go into a port for anything - all its needs can be delivered by the Gulf of Mexico US based supply boats who have been doing this type of work for many decades.
Also I would guess BPC would not want to enter a Bahamian port to avoid provoking the eco-warriors - they will stay way out of sight at the drill site imo.
The London stock exchange has: -
BAHAMAS PETROL GBX 2.67 Mid Price +0.10 +3.68 2.70 2.60 2.75 2.67 2.58 2.58 - for the last hour - but here on LSE it gives 2.62!
CarsCoffee,
The drilling manager aboard the Icemax will have daily meetings and will consult with BPC and the Icemax captain and the supply boat operator's and order the loadouts of required items which the supply boat will load and deliver when required. Certain supply boats can also carry bulk goods liquids in dedicated tanks - like drill water, cement, mud, and potable water. With a 200 mile one way trip to the drill site I imagine 2-3 supply boats will be on charter once drilling begins. Basically like North sea UK operations with helicopters for crew and hotshot items.
CarsCoffe:
Not true - the large items such as casing, cement, mud etc., would be delivered when needed by supply boat from the USA directly to the Icemax on location.
I would not expect the Icemax to enter any Bahamian port, but either go to an anchorage area offshore or go directly to the drillsite.
jono44 - normally a rig or drillship would go straight to the drilling location and fly out any customs or government representatives necessary for approvals before commencing operations. Going into a port is unnecessary as fresh food and supplies will be delivered to the drillship by supply boats, and the drilling crews and service hands flown to and fro by helicopter.
Sorry this is old news but listed as in the past 24 hours?

If all posters put rossannan and IreneKrap on Filters it would cut out a lot of noise on the bb.
According to page 8 of the February 2020 presentation, the well site is 91 miles out into the sea. This means any incident (highly unlikely) could either not affect the Bahamas at all, or being so far away would allow plenty of time for it to be contained before it reached any ecologically sensitive areas of the Bahamas.
post 181:
There is no 'discovery' of any oil until the well is drilled.
I have complained several times before to Tom Hull that the investor trading updates are few and far between, and basically just twice a year - but they choose not the change their trading statement policy.
This port departure was expected long ago - so nothing new, and most probably no P1 news until arrival on location in mid December.
Bigoiler:
I would think if they get oil shows in any upper zone they would announce it, so good news could come earlier maybe a week or so after spudding and after they set surface casing and the second casing string (we do not have a well design to refer to) - but there again they may choose to make an announcement when they are deeper into the well or if they decide to test a zone for example. As an exploration well anything significant can be expected at anytime after the reach the first potential productive zone.
brynjon:
The possibility of another entity (company) succeeding or joining BPC in its agreements with the Bahamas government is probably covered in the existing agreement.
The well location is 91 miles from the coast of the Bahamas - from page 8 of the BPC 20 February 2020 presentation.
