Re Exploration not production wells:
The first well on an undrilled structure is always an exploration well - however although they usually plugged and abandoned they can be re-entered at a later stage if they are suitable for production. The first well on a new structure has a well design based on all available knowledge such as seismic and any similar nearby wells, and geological data etc., however after the first well is drilled and if it is a discovery well, subsequent wells are specifically designed to avoid any problems encountered with the discovery well and based on the corrected formation depths and known pressures, fluids and gases etc obtained when drilling the discovery well. These production wells are refined in design as more knowledge of the field becomes available, such as flow and productivity information.

For those not familiar with oilfield terms "Tight-hole conditions" refers to ensuring all involved in the operations do not leak any information on the well - although the company may make announcements of course.

BrutalDeluxe - nothing new reported just re-affirmed, so no upward movement of the sp - the name of the game is be patient.

If the rig is not due to mobilise during this coming week then I do not expect any update until the rig departs for the location.
After that we have about 3 weeks at sea before the rig is on location and then positioning and then testing the BOP subsea stack, and picking up and running the riser etc., I estimate a spud date about month after leaving port for the location.

I have watched IK for years and in my view IK is definitely a professional basher - you are entitled to your opinion as am I.

They are not concerned with the risk of losing money like the average investor, because they are usually paid to bash the stock. In other words, they are not using their personal funds and are not actually investing themselves, or at least not in that stock. Additionally, bashers do not wait for the markets to go up or down; they make them move themselves. Bashers use fear, lies, and falsehoods to prey on the nervous investor, thus influencing the markets in their favour.

Recently sellers outnumber buyers about 2 to 1 but the price still rises - I do not think this is simply a case of incorrectly assigning some buys as sells - it is too big a difference. I think some entity is buying up shares and effectively taking those shares out of circulation and building a sizeable stake in BPC.

If the operator has not yet accepted then the rig/well/blowout insurance is not in place for the operator to drill the well, and the well is off the table for the operator until the rig is accepted as fit for purpose imo.

A well is usually commenced at the spud date, and this is usually when the bit goes through the rotary table for the first time - i.e. the the rig and all equipment etc is fully rigged up and has been accepted by the operator and drilling commences. The rig has various day rates depending on its status - the highest rate is when drilling and so the rig contractor needs the rig to be accepted by the operator for the drilling rate to apply etc.

This recent rise just a couple of weeks before the Nov 17th trading update - indicates to me a perception that the trading update will be good news. However this is a very volatile share and sudden shifts in the sp are quite common for no apparent reason.

I would expect a rise during the month we have left before the trading update on November 17th, and if trading is good a further rise in late November. But of course I could be wrong with this highly volatile share.

For every sale there has to be a buyer - this is an undeniable fact.
Yet day after day we see no buyers listed for these shares - I think someone is building a substantial stake - maybe the market makers are accumulating shares for a client?
