The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
All, I hold shares in BLR. I am currently at a loss; I need them to be at 65p to get my investment back. If you don't know anything, don't say it! Far too many people are offering different thoughts (which we are all entitled to do) one was that the share price would be at £1, the other was wait two to six weeks for great news (that was posted nearly two weeks ago). Can we use this site how it should be? Actual facts rather than fiction? I'm not trying to sound harsh it's just a lot of investors use this site for assistance...
Please excuse me for being negative however the speculation that these shares may "possibly suspended" and in the same sentence "£1 + by the end of the year" without any evidence of proof does interest me slightly. LSE members read and write with great interest to assist other investors in the bid to make money. If you can give any proof where, why or how you have this 'information' it would greatly assist other investors.
BLR. I'm still holding on to BLR. Sadly this company don't seem to be offering much in the way of good news. I'm in BLR for the long run however they need basic business sense - cut costs and makes a profit... Simple stuff... Anyone else with any comments?
Before I start my moan, I own some BLR and they owe me some money. What exactly has happened... BLR have 800,000 hectares which they can farm if they raise enough cash... Same week a report (which has been commissioned by Black Rock Oil & Gas emerges) comes out saying how good the company is. Unless they find something, 5p is an interesting dream... If we can get to 1p around July/ August I'll be happy (still not covered my investment!)
BLR. Morning Ringowner. Interim results have been released today hence a drop... Visit http://www.investegate.co.uk/ ; you'll be able to see the Interim Results for BLR on there.
BLR - Not really the best start in 2007... A lot of people, me included need to see prices over 1p to get their money back. I'm tempted to buy in again if these dip to .65, just to cut losses. Whilst everyone wants these to be at 3p or 4p, can we all be realistic first. They need to cut their operating losses, -£2.3m last year, they're trying to sell North Sea and Australia, hopefully Columbia will come good... I'm hoping. Any thoughts?
Hindsight is a wonderful thing...! I believe that a sniff of good news will see BLR on the up. I have topped up when the share price dropped, originally I was in a worse situation than you, I first bought in at 1.6! Here's to a good 2007.
BLR - Onthebottom... I've just been catching up with the posts and see that you have 92k invested in BLR. I presume that you have 92,000 shares and haven't invested your 'life savings' of £92,000 into a company that you don't know a great deal about? I'm not giving financial advice however if it was me, I would have invested in a growth fund, managed by a professional. IMHO Regarding BLR - A disappointing financial report sheet, a loss of £1.65 million, £200,000 more than the previous year. The loss per share is down, only because more shares are on the market. I read that the intention is to dispose of all Australian activities, (presumably closing down the Australian office as well?)Sandhills was abandoned (BLR only had 5% interest). Whilst I hope that BLR will increase, giving us much deserved results for our patience, I am always interested to know where people can predict figures such as 2p or 4p in six-twelve months. Unless you have evidence, do people just make this up? Answers on a postcard...
Thank you for your email. I regret that our Directors are currently away from the office on business but am pleased to be able to inform you that further announcements regarding the Company affairs are due to be posted on the website at the end of this week. When you have read these if you have any further enquiries please do not hesitate to contact us again. Kind regards Gill Saxon P.A. to Directors Black Rock Oil& Gas Plc Further announcements regarding the company are due to be posted at the end of the week, any thoughts from anyone? My guess is that the annual report (if out on the 14th) will be announced on the 14th/ 15th?
BLR. Jimarillo, I use NatWest for my dealing and it is shown in BLR key dates. AGM and Annual Report are due before Christmas. I emailed BLR this morning, just to confirm whether those dates were correct and to hear whether any good news would be on the way... No reply yet.
BLR. Is anyone else still in on BLR? All I've seen so far today is 500,000 sells and the sp is down 12%... Does anyone have any ideas?
BLR. Morning, I've been looking at key dates and I see that the 14th December is planned for the Annual Report? AGM on the 19th? Is anyone going to go?
BLR. Whether I was dreaming this last night or have seen it written somewhere... Are Kappa looking to purchase BLR? If not the whole company, just the interest in Columbia? I know it's a Friday, the end of a very stressful week... Is it true or am I going mad!?
I don't use Interactive Investor I'm afraid so you'll have to help me here... Do you know who wrote the article? Was it an investor?
BLR. The start of another exciting week... I topped up on Friday afternoon with some more of these, not too sure whether I should have waited until today though! Does anyone know whether we can expect any news before Christmas? Surely at less than a penny these represent good value. Two weeks ago we were seeing sp of 1.7?
BLR. I'm so glad I didn't take my profits last week... Reading the RNS from BLR, it sounds as though Kappa aren't the most organised in requests for money however one would normally know what costs or potential claims they would have to pay in advance or before entering into an agreement. The RNS will shift any blame to Kappa as BLR need investors to stick with them. I'm sticking with BLR for now. I was tempted to buy more however I'm holding at the minute to see what the outcome with Kappa is. Any thoughts?
Moon... There isn't anything that you can do apart from sitting tightly. Hopefully there'll be some sort of update before Christmas. Should the sp fall and you can afford it, buy some more in these. I first bought into these at 2.1p... Luckily I bought more at 1.3 Crudeboy... I wonder whether the drilling report from the 13th Nov was a tactic to raise some extra cash for the Columbian partnership... IMO Columbia will bring more rewards than the UK for BLR. I just hope they get pumping out the same oil which was there in the 60's! Any thoughts?
HNS. I believe that this share will fall back to 650 - 675 over the next couple of months. There has been talk of a potential takeover for a number of years. My post 17th June 2005 was when I heard some news. I'm not too sure who would be looking at buying them at the minute, I have some thoughts however I will add this tomorrow.
BLR. RNS from 21st August. Up today, I wonder whether news of oil will be with us next week? Any thoughts? Black Rock with interests in Colombia and offshore UK, is pleased to announce that it has come to an agreement with Gemini Oil & Gas Fund II, L.P. ('Gemini') whereby Gemini will fund Black Rock's 15% share of the drilling and testing of the forthcoming 49/8c-4 Monterey appraisal well, in the Southern Gas Basin of the UK North Sea. The Monterey Gas Field is estimated to contain 165 billion cubic feet of reserves. The well will appraise the commerciality of the field.
BLR. Just noticed the 1.5 million shares purchased earlier, nearly £17k, not going to break the bank however someone must be willing to sit on this cash or hoping for some news? Any thoughts?
