The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Significant Shareholder The Board of Black Rock (stock code: BLR) announces that it has been informed that Rickerbys has acquired 15,000,000 ordinary shares of 0.5p each in the share capital of the Company and is therefore interested in a total of 26,010,882 Ordinary Shares representing 6.06 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital. Jixon - This is encouraging news for investors like me, I was in at 2p so needed some good news! I've topped up now at 1.35p
ACC. Next prelim announcement 24 - Feb - 2006 Next annual report due 28 - Feb - 2006 Great day so far, has been building up for a while. I'm interested to know what other people think about where this can go? Solid results (we assume) should be encouraging, any idea on the SP?
PRTY. In my opinion, PRTY won't be increasing too much more if anything over the next three months. If you were in when they were low, take your money and invest somewhere else. You may see this up to 160p but it's not going to be enough to retire on! I'd look to AEX over the next couple of weeks, BLR maybe too late but worth a punt and COST for a longer term. Does anyone have any thoughts?
BLR. I've been in a meeting all afternoon and have only just had a chance to check... Single ordinary trade of 11.7m shares, that is a massive buy. Does anyone have any thoughts? I'm still sitting on 2p per share so I'm hoping that they do well!
ELP. I've been waiting and watching all the posts as well as the sp. I won't be investing in ELP as I would only have been in for the short term and that boat has sailed. VOG shares were too much for me and am still annoyed that I sold my AEX shares far too early... Mussy, are you an Australian?
COST. RNS released today. Pretty standard RNS information that preliminary results will be announced on the 15th March 2006. Finance Director will be leaving during the year to pursue other avenues. It would be nice to receive a dividend on these! Any thoughts?
HHO. Well KM certainly raised some interest in the company... Sadly, it's not really worked how I was hoping! Whilst KM has resigned, he won't be able to sell his shares will he? What will happen now? Profitable publications will be sold to try and clear some/ all debt? Any thoughts... please! I feel more sorry for those who bought in at 12p a year or so ago, luckily I'm not in their position however this will not help my retirement plan!
HHO. I'm willing to sit tight on this one and hope for a half decent result in the future. I won't be purchasing until we are into the New Year, hopefully more information will be available (unless of course the price drops significantly). I see that the companies website doesn't have the most up to date RNS information... I wonder if that is because the majority of it is bad? Personally, I wouldn't invest my money into this company if I was looking to invest at the minute however I am in and will have to wait! I'm still of the opinion that if you don't know what you are doing with shares then do not moan if you take someone elses advice. My advice would be to split your investment, give half to a fund manager and play with the other half... (Hopefully one half will do well!)
HHO. My wounds were being licked at around 1.55p however at the minute they are gaping open and bleeding heavily! Good day today if anyone has invested recently however for those who are still at 2-3p, we are holding on tightly!! I'll be in again if it goes to half a pence!
HHO. After reading the Regulatory announcement this morning, could anyone else please assist me in the explanation of this paragraph "In the meantime, our banks continue to be supportive. Shareholders, however, should be aware that they face a dilution in any restructuring as highlighted in the Interim announcement and that this dilution is likely to be substantial." Would this suggest that the share will be "diluted" to make more shares available which in turn may bring in more shareholders?
IDD. I've been reading all the comments... I use this site to assist me with the buying and selling of shares. I like to listen to other peoples opinions... and yes, when shares go down we all like to blame someone... At the end of the day, I choose where to invest MY money! We are all here to make money, hopefully retiring that little bit earlier or making more money if you've retired already! Good luck to everyone and anyone, I hope that you all make as much as you can! I have split my investments, half to a balanced fund manager (+23% in 18 months) and my portfolio (-15% in the last 6 months!)
COST. I mentioned in September that there was talk a dividend could possibly be paid. Does anyone have any further information on this? Selftoblame, I'm not sure what the eps would be, I do agree with the house concept though! I'm still of the opinion that this share is a long term buy, I too used to work indirectly for Costain and have seen the company become more structured and organised. I'm still waiting to hear what the new man plans for the short and long term future. If he wants to get the share price to 55-60p as the previous man, I'm quite happy to keep my money with them.
COST. selftoblame, I wouldn't worry, I'm far from getting rich quick... Seems to be quite the opposite! Everything you have said about Costain is exactly what my thoughts are on them. They've won the work on the M1 which is a good contract, we should also be thinking long term about the olympics... More construction work = more jobs, hopefully my share price with Hays will increase!
