COST. Whilst the UK-Iranian relationship is struggling at the minute, Costain shares have been declining since just before the new Chief Executive was appointed. I have not seen any coverage as to what the new mans aims and objectives are for the company. The outgoing wanted to try and get a share price at 55-60p. I invested in these as a long termer (or so I thought ) at around 48p. At the price they are now, I too am also tempted to invest some more into them.
URA. I sold my shares in this company for a loss. I recently read an interesting article (can't remember where!) on the countries (UK & US were in there) that were planning on increasing the use of nuclear power stations for their power supply. Sadly, this company didn't do anywhere near enough to fill me with confidence in investing my hard earned pennies. This was one of the first companies that I bought into when I decided to manage some funds myself... I have now learned a harsh lesson and research a hell of a lot more!! I'm going for more shares in BLR if the bid price drops to 1.75 and COST have a massive order book so wouldn't mind topping up for the long term. Any thoughts? (sorry for ranting!) Daniel
HHO. Didn't do as much research as I should have done with these, got carried away in the moment after reading different posts (not just here) and articles... Have purchased some more now (?), not prepared to lose my initial investment so am hoping that these will gain and consolidate losses... Here's hoping!
FMJ. The Interim Statement for the six months ended 30 June 2005 has been released today. All appears to be good news. I had bought in at 0.03 so am hopeful this will return to 4-5p in the next 6 months. Does anyone have any thoughts?
BLR. New Licence Award in Colombia Black Rock Oil & Gas plc is pleased to announce the award of the Alhucema Association Contract to its joint venture partner in Colombia, Kappa Resources Colombia Ltd ("Kappa").
Damian Butt, the managing director of Paragon, has now left Highbury to form a new company, Imagine Publishing. Its first title is believed to be an Xbox computer game magazine competing directly with a Highbury publication. HHO. I've been following what everyone has been writing, it appears that you all back these for the long term, if that is the case would now be an ideal time to invest? Down 8% today, I've already lost 25% on them.
URA. Thanks Chan, luck is definitely what I need at the minute... My portfolio isn't looking too hot at present! I think I'll hold on, I've only lost 50% so far! I'm hoping on a dividend from Costain and Hays results at the end of the month... Bought this morning, they're down 5%!
URA. Chan, following your advice... I think that it is time to jump ship on this one! In the back of my mind... I do think, would it be worth having a punt... just in case they went up... or is that just because I'm not very experienced?!
