Cereus, may I offer a different view, I'm age 72, and apparently banks should stay open so the likes of me can call in. However I have not seen the need to visit a bank for at least 3 years. A couple of times in that period I received cheques and dealt with these at the post office. Surely the banks cannot be expected to open on the off chance that someone might visit. Banking hubs do however have some merit but people need to use those else the experiment will fall flat. JJ

back to normal now; my personal rule is "ignore the market until after 9am" as they play games on opening, have a good day. JJ

I would like the BOE to challenge popular thinking and hold the base rate at the current level. This would be possible if they were to express the view that inflation has peaked. JJ
