Right now it would make more sense to buy back shares to increase the value of your and my shares, also those the gov't own. To start paying dividends will have the media in a fury, IMHO. JJ

Greg, I would love to discuss the wide subject you have raised here. In my 70th year I believe you can achieve all that is important if you are ready to learn, throughout your life, and are prepared to work hard, even when you see people who have it so much easier than you/me. I grew up in a council house, that my father refused to buy, it was against his socialist principals. His Dad died when he was 5 which meant he went into an orphanage. He worked hard and achieved in the manner he aspired to, as have I. I started investing in my 20's having bought a house at age 21 with no parental help. I retired at 46. I could do that now if I had my life again. Good luck, JJ.

From what I can see the business was upfront about the terms of a loan, and the need for a guarantor IMO reduces the opportunity to claim it was miss sold. Unlike PPI where the banks mislead people into having protection which frequently did not exist. The CEO has been clear that there have been invalid claims which he will fight whilst liaising with the regulator at every stage. This will come good and all it needs is a little patience. JJ
