Saxman, "Odey going for broke....." is most unlikely at present. More than likely that he will wait for FYR and then if the results show distinct weakness he will make his play. Right now there is a risk for odey as the results could surpass market expectations and the serious investors dive in, including our bod. This is the most interesting time for MTRO for more than 3 years. JJ
Expect this to significantly recover toward close today, but still be down unless the FTSE hits a new high. IMO it still represents a buy with a target of 350/400p in 12 months. JJ
I didn't do any research but invested part of my dividend income; ALBA represents 0.34% of my investment portfolio. I bought ALBA because it had an interest in a gold mine. At that stage I didn't even know about GROC, so the latter is a fortuitous bonus. It really annoys me when some others have also not done research before buying and now want to tell us the bod should change direction and forget gold mining when that is why I bought and continue to hold. I am happy to take the risk. Please excuse my post but I'm entitled to hope the gold will materialise. JJ
You all know, or should that prices are often very misleading upon opening. Don't panic the results are sound. However there are a lot of 'warnings' written in the wordy announcement.
Enjoy the div when it gets paid. IMO NWG is a good hold.
onelongrunner, 'shall be here at 7am with my coffee. Pleasant dreams. JJ
Mr.kioto I do agree. However it should be the case that as there are fewer shares in circulation it means to pay any subsequent div costs TSCO less and that means the div can be improved without the Company actually laying out more money overall. This in turn should then create more demand for the shares, and up we go. That's my view. JJ
The day before Barclays 'declared' their share price was down suggesting the market was factoring in the mess. The market is full of expectation for NWG hence the strength of the share as I write. We can expect to see a 52 week high in the next 24 hours, but also expect it to be down at the close of Friday. This is a normal scenario based on my experience of this share when we are in good times. Fingers crossed for brilliant results. JJ
Crumbs not another car sold, fingers crossed we are selling them at a small profit. JJ
Robbie you must be a distant relative of Lewis Carroll, have you been down the rabbit hole or are you trying to encourage people there? "Its difficult for Directors to buy in due to expected news...." lets be clear if Directors have knowledge that is not available to the markets that could materially affect the value of the company then they cannot buy and should not tell anyone else including you as it would be 'insider information' and render them liable to prosecution.
