Firering Strategic Minerals: From explorer to producer. Watch the video here.
You have misled people on this bb by suggesting someone got paid £230,000 when the highest earner is receiving half that amount. Perhaps you should do some research and that should also include those on this bb who were taken in by your post. JJ
One could take the view that we are actually above the 'normal level' . However hope that we get back to moving up now that the gov't have sold another 1%.
The wider economy is going to impact this share, its difficult to call it right now. JJ
Let the FYR do the talking, not long now. Good luck to those actually holding MTRO. JJ
Its going to need lots of money to move to full scale production. And even if ALBA were to sell everything it owns, with the exception of GROC, it would not IMHO provide sufficient funds to fully fund the latter to proper production. And that's why the stated intention of GROC is to leverage their assets to produce the handsome returns we all hope for. So my message is hold onto your investment in either GROC or ALBA or both and simply wait. Its been widely reported that the assets held by GROC have considerable appeal to all sorts of investors in this age when we aim for net zero.
I consider it likely that GROC will be grabbed by one of the 'big boys' for a premium on todays share price and we won't get to see the producer stage except as observers. ALBA holding more than 50% means we are in safe hands. JJ
'would have preferred the money had gone on providing a special div as it would have attracted more interest to boost the otherwise weak share price. These buybacks are not having the desired impact for the small investor. JJ
and having more than one project in the case of ALBA offers a greater chance of success. As I view it GROC should be able to grow with the support of a big player without undermining ( no pun intended) the value of our investment. The gold mining aspect of ALBA is not going to give rise to enormous outlay right now if at all. The bod have a programme to thoroughly explore before incurring serious costs. If and when they assure themselves that mining has a high chance of success then its at that stage we will see a plan to mine. And there is every likelihood that it will be with some form of partnership and not at the cost of the GROC holding. Please keep faith with the bod and ignore those who would has us believe their view which ignores the experience inherent in the management of ALBA.
The bod are on record as saying they would sell HH at the right price but such a buyer has not come forward yet. There is nothing clever about saying repeatedly that ALBA should sell HH.
Please be assured I welcome differing views but see no reason to be rude. I did recently lose my patience here for which an apology is appropriate. You be the judge. I hope my opinion offers a balanced contribution today. JJ
Panderman, hope you can still enjoy lunch as HSBC is doing well today. JJ
Prentice, agreed.
My thought process is that HH is an asset but not likely to give working capital.
GROC is an asset and could be sold in whole or part by ALBA if the monies can be put to better use. For example if the bod are convinced that they can make more money from gold when GROC may remain at the pip-squeak stage. I would rather that the bod avoid creating yet more shares. Any new thoughts anyone? JJ
I do wonder whether we may have tied ourselves into this by having given what appears to be an open ended loan. What is someone prepared to pay us to get out of that commitment? If someone looks closely at ALBA I do wonder whether the current share price and market cap are warranted. JJ
The economy is fragile which explains a lot, supposedly the market is forward thinking, we could could see a significant drop across the board and not just with bank shares. The BOE could stop raising interest rates very soon IMO. Good luck to you both. JJ
Crumbs £9 in less than 2 years time; what coffee are you drinking? Above £2 will satisfy me. JJ
With the stock market around an all time high we could see MTRO get back to moving north or we might see the FTSE drop 3-5% so sending MTRO back into the clutches of Odey.
Lets hope there are no nasty shocks. Its going to be an interesting week with more banks giving results. JJ
ALBA is worth approx. £8m
GROC is worth approx. £5m
ALBA owns half of GROC i.e. £2.5m
By being invested in ALBA you are sharing in other investments which are worth £8m, less £2.5m which amounts to £5.5m. As you don't believe in the elements that make up that £5.5m you would, to use your own arguments, be better off selling ALBA and putting the money in GROC to avoid the risks inherent with HH and a flooded gold mine.
I see an upside to the gold mine and believe we could see the mine operating and producing gold in 2023, but you don't hold that opinion, so get out now would seem the best course of action.
You said in December that you had bought ALBA, when the share was actually lower than today. It follows that you are likely to be able to sell ALBA and buy GROC without losing much if anything on the deal. A win win where you personally are concerned.
But of course that would mean you couldn't in all fairness moan any more about your investment because you will then have what you wanted all along.
Are you man enough to take some real action on your own behalf, instead of irritating the majority who post and read this bb? JJ
