The coming weeks and months are going to be very exciting here.

They mentioned in a recent presentation that they were planning to develop the Genedrive device so that it can handle different kinds of tests. This will be a game changer, imagine hospitals already familiar using Genedrive for testing clopidogrel resistance or to prevent AIHL, and then having one single device that does both tests and more.

This… "Support software teams with hardware integration" is way down the list of key responsibilities and likely refers mainly to the software running on the Genedrive device rather than NHS software. The role is more about leading the overall product design rather than software focused.

If there was any kind of serious integration problem the Paloh UK study wouldn’t have gone ahead on November 1st.

The job post appears to be for developing next generation Genedrive products. I take that to be referring to the previously mentioned device capable of doing several different tests (all on the same Genedrive device).

Gloria, this has not been mentioned in any RNSs or presentations and is certainly not the reason for the new job post. What you’re referring to is a forum post from last year saying the company was working on integrating genedrive with the NICUs internal systems which can vary from unit to unit.

I think it's fair to say that there is a high degree of certainty that the UK do want Genedrive's products. If not RNR1 wouldn't have been added to the latest Med Tech Funding Mandate - December 19th 2024 (and Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS).

Ongoing NHSE “pilot” to establish development of an accessible and efficient model for incorporating CYP2C19 genetic testing into stroke and TIA care in NHSE.

This approach will provide a functioning service model that combines laboratory and point-of-care genetic testing at a small number of sites. This will be the first step towards a nationwide service, informed by front-line needs and requirements. These requirements will be shared through the implementation guide as well as inform commissioning decisions. These outputs are anticipated to be delivered in April 2025.

Plus the 500k for the 'PALOH UK' study of course, so as it stands they actually have enough cash to keep them going until mid-August (or longer with sales).

Genedrive won't stand still though, they have "product development" in their medium to longer term outlook.

They're also expecting sales before then and these could be very significant.

The Singapore company's test is for research only, spotted them earlier in the week. They haven't done any trials so they're years behind Genedrive.

Also Gloria, last years placing was anctually announced May 9th. So based on the timings of last year, if there are no sales by mid July then we could expect a placing to be announced in June.

Of course, there will be sales though :)

Firstly I meant they have enough cash until mid July including the tax credit. But the sales expected by then will obviously increase the cash runway beyond that.

They said they will begin giving sales forecasts when more of the tests are in routine use. Regarding the stroke test, the pilot study will reveal the balance between lab testing and POC testing… it’ll be some combination of both.

Just to clarify I meant it’s unlikely there won’t be any sales between now and June. Or in other words it’s likely there will be sales :)

Without any sales (unlikely) then they have until about mid June including the tax credit. But it’s almost guaranteed at the point that there will be further sales between now and then. Which would push the cash runway out further, potentially negating the need for dilutive funding at all.

All depends on the findings from the stroke pilot, AIHL evidence generation (which we’ve been told could be concluded much earlier than the max 18 months stated) and special commissioning.

National specialist commissioning for RNR1 "as good as guaranteed" by April 2025. Gino reconfirmed in December that they remain confident that being the case.
