Jeez, Mark, how much slack are you going to cut? They stated they knew of no other obstacles to the granting of the license after the decree, then told the market that the election (again) and then covid was to blame when it was not forthcoming (again). Now it's a change of cabinet (again).
All joking aside, but some people have served less time in jail for murder than how long we have been waiting for this license! Something stinks about all this and it cannot be excused away by suggestions of Togo's economic and governance status.

Million $ question right there, no matter how it is dressed up.

Same difference really as if we don't get the license then SGM and Togo assets are pretty meaningless for us. I can't see how we'd give away less when the 10% was part of the decree approval process, as was converting SGM from a private to a public company.
Anyhow, another time-frame now to wait on.

I'll say once again - if there was no chance of a license being issued in 2014/15 then the BOD should NOT have kept telling us it was coming.

That's pretty much my avenue of thinking also, BJ. 'May be 'negative' thinking as some suggest on here, but the reality of 6 years is the reality, as is the absence of the license. The recent trip sounds downright farcical in my opinion giving the timing and events - the President was out of the country to begin with, then the entire Cabinet changes and seemingly the SMT didn't have the foggiest about any of it. If they did then they wouldn't have had to extend the trip from one week to two, then apparently three according to this RNS.

??? No one in or from the Government of Togo will be doing any of that, Mark. That's the job of KRS workers, should we ever get the license.
Those 'few shiny panels' etc. amount to a $1.5 billion country electrification program.

And Togo have also licensed new technologies, like solar. If they can get to grips with that then they can license another mining project, all be it of a differing mineral.

Well, if it's misleading then don't shoot the messenger. The BOD is entirely responsible for the information it has released.

Playing Devil's advocate here, Mark - but there's been plenty of licenses awarded to other projects recently, and during the previous 6 years. The decree was granted one year ago now by the very people who have just handed the reins over to new post holders, many of who were already in the government anyway.

As for the Cabinet reshuffle - it would not be 'unfortunate' that RL and management decided upon that very week to visit Togo; It would be utterly incompetent and show a complete lack of any sort of dialogue, communique or links with the government despite having a local subsidiary.

Sharing your sentiments - I hope I'm wrong too. But events over 6 years seem to suggest otherwise.

Well, just to clarify that point - it was not the actual Ministers nor the PM who visited Nayega, but 'representatives' from the Finance, labour, and Mining Ministry's.

I hope you are right, mate. But if it's positive news then I see no reason whatsoever - especially after a 6 year wait - as to why that would not be rapidly transmitted to the market?

He wasn't too busy to release a 2nd RNS when over there and the Gov changed.

28th RNS "Management will remain in Togo for the rest of the week and the Company looks forward to updating shareholders in the near term with developments"
It's 2 weeks now since that RNS and presumably 10 days since they departed Togo. We are still waiting to be 'updated' and the silence is becoming ever more ominous. RL has to be acutely aware of this and needs to come out and tell us what is going on.

Would have to hope they had the gumption about them to extend - as the new Government was formed and appointed on the 2nd. Not much point on meeting only with the outgoing Ministers!
