So just the Semi would require the output from Sonora and more if the Hanwa supply was still in place, now who would risk starting a mining and processing project to supply high grade battery lithium with a to year lead time.

You don't take chances with a 900kg lithium battery on wheels.

I can't imagine Ganfeng remaining silent as the 'Sonora plan' is about to be announced on the COP27 world stage without some clarity on their position and given what Canada has done with Chinese interests.

looking back to when many bought in - blimey if Sonora was in production as planned from 2019, yes that's worth pondering upon - the reason to invest in 2014 when I first did is totally justified by the demand and global significance lithium has today.

Any off takers interested in LCE at $11,000t, I'm sure there's some senior people in the car giants who regret not taking that opportunity - they've been disrupted and couldn't see it and that's practically every global car manufacturer.

Fingers crossed we get a result form Sonora soon and can sit back watching the other assets develop.

A_L.O will meet with Alfonso Durazo this week for an update on the Sonora plan and it will be announced at COP27 - the article I read over the weekend said in three weeks so likely that's towards the close of the summit.

So possibly we could get some info in the next few days.

That Luna battery was only formed 18 months ago!

I'm not so sure how this stands with Ganfeng it could of course be really negative or maybe the pilot plant will have a second use - looking back at the state visit a week or so back - intriguing!

Lopez Obrador said he is examining a lithium mining concession given to Chinese firm Ganfeng Lithium Co. before Mexico nationalized its resources of the metal. “We are looking at this because we want the law to be applied. They can say it’s not valid to apply it retroactively, but lithium now belongs to the nation, to Mexicans,” he said.

Ford Motor Co. and other car companies with plants in Mexico are interested in the idea of converting their factories to make electric vehicles, Lopez Obrador said.

plenty of positive news to move the SP in the right direction short term but I'm hoping the concessions are cleared up before COP27 ends, I would expect Ganfeng to make their position clear by then?
