The normal things:

- production increases as forecast.

- earnings increase as forecast.

- cashflow and profit increase as promised (accepting we might use to utilise DEC’s Alternative Performance Metrics to normalise one off costs around acquisitions and reducing impact of financial derivatives).

- debt reducing as planned including extra “performance payments.”

- projected synergies reflected in costs per barrel and savings.

- declines and reserves as forecast.

That’ll do for starters. 😀

Accretive to company financial performance - share price may take a while to reflect this but improved financial performance as promised for acquisitions is step 1.

Last year’s Q3 results were 12Nov - this year it’s over a week earlier, despite the company being larger and more complex following acquisitions.

Have DEC finally realised the market wants some proof that acquisitions have been accretive, and the earlier the better for share price?

The RNS tells us $70 million from Dec. The other $650 figure is aspirational for multiple agreements between WV and other producers. Some of that will be DEC after the 20 year period lots won’t!

$70 million of money you were going to spend anyway, likely going to your own subsidiary looks like good value to ensure you’re onside with the state legislators and regulators for 20 years. Allows them to rebuff any negative ESG reports or court cases - and we’ve seen the negative impact they can have.

If you read my post I told you that they had bought shares direct, that was never in question. However, the seller obviously thought there was a need for a secondary offering. I very much doubt DEC wanted to blow over $100mn in one go.

I didn’t say they couldn’t buy from other shareholders, they have done this. I said they might not be able to take part in secondary offerings (insider knowledge etc). But I don’t know for certain hence the word “might” - do you have proof they can?

No BBs for several days doesn’t mean they have given up - they might just have paused for a period. Read the words. As a simple example for you I haven’t had a drink since Saturday, I haven’t given up, will have one again soon.

Mav, I continually ask chartists or tech analysis people how can charting cope with the binary position of an organisation which either can or can’t sell its single product at double the current price depending on a political whim.

I accept charting and technicals might work if you have historical data from a benign share from an insurer, a bank or even an oil major - but don’t believe it works for Genel in current circumstances nor for AIM stocks where single news items have massive impact on cashflow.

You don’t know DEC “chose” not to buy in the secondary offering, it’s more likely they weren’t allowed to.

You don’t know they have “given up or dropped the BB price” - equally likely they have paused due to cashflow or many other reasons.

It might well hit the 190s but the difference is:

Mav - since Phrophet’s stupid posts in Feb I’ve been saying it will take a long time to reach an agreement (not that the pipeline will never open).

DNO / Genel still haven’t reached an agreement and other IOCs don’t yet know how much they’ll be paid, when they’ll be paid and how long the contracts will last. No/one knows anything about repayment of historical debt. This will all likely be resolved eventually but expecting Iraq and KRG to act rationally for the mutual benefit of their populations would be naive. Check the behaviour over last 7 or 8 years.

And the Iraqi MOO has always been totally honest and transparent! Iraq have repeatedly said (quite rightly) that the debt belongs to KRG, not Iraq. We need an internationally enforceable agreement between KRG and IOCs - not just a rumour motivated by political expediency (elections in Nov).

Worya - a nice thought but the practicalities of buying all the shares at a secondary offering would make it unaffordable - 7.5 million shares @ $13.75 for example is over $100 million! Quite a hit to cashflow - let’s not forget they’re running the company to grow and make profit - sometimes those decisions may adversely impact short term share price movements.

Not up to speed on the rules of US secondary offerings but I’d imagine they preclude the subject company buying, hence why Dec didn’t take a few whilst it was buying on open market at over $14.

Hopefully private arrangements for 100000 at a time off market will continue to be made.

With no RNS yet today it looks like maybe the fall on Monday and rise on Tuesday on US markets is just normal buyers and sellers finding levels.

DNO / Genel havent agreed to the deal - have you checked their prices? Still where they were months ago whilst gkp has had a bump.

It is possible to make a case for a falling price, you just haven’t been able to manage it.
