That doesn’t seem to make sense!

If US demand and thus prices are high whilst European and Asian prices are low then the spread (or difference) is high (not low as the article says).

Profit margins for US producers are only squeezed if they export - but why would they if US prices are at recent highs? Sell locally and make more money.

Makes no sense.

There is no agreement on monies owed for previous deliveries - the export deal (to which Genel and DNO are not signatories) only said they would commence discussions within 21 days - there has been no update on this.

Your second paragraph is correct but only applicable to those IOCs exporting oil to Ceyhan via SOMO / pipeline. Genel and DNO are not part of this arrangement.

The instalment payments you refer to are for oil exported since September - no ioc has yet been paid the $16 per barrel transportation costs though this is expected in Dec (but only for a portion of it). Again, this is not relevant to DNO / Genel.

Final comment - only payments to Genel in December are those in advance for local sales - still no exposure to international prices.

You can follow the truth (if you’re interested in that) over on gkp - but that is not relevant to Genel / DNO until they sign an export agreement.

Suggest those are questions best answered by II as those of us with brokers other than II still have UK shares listed in £s and trade in UK hours.

Anything from a random poster on here not with II is likely to be guesswork at best.

I’d suggest xd is the reason for low volume.

If you were looking to sell, then traditionally selling DEC just before xd would have been advantageous. This xd it depends on what time you sold at today - much variation - guess due to gas prices and US positivity early doors.

Back payments are not agreed!

The last Genel trading and ops update said

“Our near-term objectives are: the restart of exports from the Tawke and Peshkabir fields maximisation of production and reserves from the Tawke and Peshkabir fields appraisal on Oman Block 54 and an agreed plan with KRG for recovery of overdue receivables.”

No plan, no agreement and KRG do not have the money to repay IOCs (DNO and Genel now last in the queue). Iraq not going to help as it’s not their responsibility - they’ve said that several times.

HL working fine - it’s not a uk freeze, it’s your broker at fault.

Think disappointment is key word.

It’s disappointing that:

- gas field capex was wasted with cancellation of PSC

- they wasted a fortune on a failed arbitration

- it took 4 years to find a geographical diversification that might pay off (Oman)

- Morocco and Somalialand capex looks like it won’t pay back

- they have not managed to get in on the export arrangements whilst still not sorting out monies owed for previous oil exports.

Some may blame all of the above on events / politics / KRG - but the BoD haven’t done very well on any of the above points. Poor decisions, delays and wait and see attitudes.

Hopefully Oman hits and share will pick up in 12/18 months - but little chance of a dividend for years.

Can’t beat living in an imaginary world. Please try to stay there!

Compared with 3Qs of 2024.

Might have to wait a while till they prove their strategy is good for cashflow.
