Interesting article 5x5,
On the one hand we have 'The Telfer Mine remains a strategic asset for Newmont' ie, βIf you have infrastructure β a copper concentrator, an airstrip, a village in the northern part of the Pilbara β itβs really important that you understand the strategic potential of that infrastructure, as well as the potential of the Havieron deposit and beyond the Paterson district,β he told The Australian.

And on the other hand we have;
βI know the Pilbara well. It is one of the great mining postcodes in the world,β he said.

Northern Star Resources and Evolution, the next two biggest gold miners on the ASX after Newcrest disappeared from the boards, have both indicated a lack of interest in Telfer and Havieron.

Chess is such an interesting and let's face it stressful game at times?
Bottom line, IMHO and this is my own personal view after reading both articles, suggests to me that we are going to have to wait for maybe at least another 12 months before we really know what NEM's intentions will be towards Telfer/Havieron.
Let's hope that SD and TP can agree a strategy asap and that we or others find a new source of gold/copper to keep Telfer going for many years , this will be the deciding factorfor sure, IMHO.
