Exactly Levon and it expanded last year in the US opening more venues, thats not a company that is about to finish.

This will recover like all shares when some covid related good news appears like it did with tge vaccines in November, and then if further covid related bad news happens like another variant, it will drop again like all others.
No shares have recovered today to what they were before last weeks sell off.
Just look at the sp from 9th November until the Indian delta variant identified in March.
Heavy shorting doesn't help cines volatility, just look from 68 Friday at one point to 56 yesterday, to 61 this morning early to 57 just now, its so volatile its best not watched regularly.

People were talking about one at 47 a short while back.

This will never go back to 20s.
I've been checking dates and the events that really created the recent overall stock price performances were firstly the F Biontech vaccine announcement on 9th November which created an uptrend of recovery for most stocks all tge way through the second wave whilst it peaked in January, and then continued with all stocks until March, and then guess what happened then? Yep the Indian more transmissible variant identified there in India, brought back to tge UK by thousands of people late March early April by people who gone there to escape loxkdown here, goverment acted to slowly as per usual, and ever since then all stocks have been on a downward trend.
My guess is that we won't see the lows of Sept/October this time but it will require some positive Covid related news to start the recovery cycle again.
Hopefully the goverment does have plan which may involve herd immunity this time aswell as everyone being vaccinated, and boosters starting.
Fingers crossed CINE and all other stocks we hold have enough liquidity and cash coming in to steady things until next year, subject to no more lockdowns which would be fatal for some companies.

If the company is so doomed short term like he makes out, why haven't the shorts increased or any new ones added since 30th June.

The recent interviews with ceo did not strike me as those of a company that is going down.
Covid statistics stated just now on press conference that serious illness and deaths significantly reduced.
Patrick valance said deaths will get to somewhere over 100.
Inevitable that hospitalizations will rise because even for double vaccinated people, its not 100% but 90% so that 10% may well end up in hospital.
Cineworld actually expanded in 2020 opening several new cinemas in the US, thats not a company that's going under.
I'm 40 k in the red just on cine, and 50k in red on all my other stocks.
Just got acceptance that it will be some time before everything fully recovers just break even.
So Cruis you at break even point , that is the things that dreams are made off for right now.

No change to shorts as people predicted.

The only thing that gives me comfort is the Deadline interview with Mooky, his interview today in the Times reiterating that all shareholders will be happy if he gets his target bonus, the fact that my whole portfolio has shed off 20% since 1st July and it is widespread not just CINE, and also that from reading articles over the weekend, it may well transpire that povd is not going to continue or exist side by side with box office theatre.
It just may take my portfolio until 2022 to recover from this current sell off.

Thanks for your supportive comments, and it is always reassuring to feel you're not alone!!
To be honest since beginning of July I'm seriously down accross a variety of my investments that I felt I was paying fair price for at the time.
Cine and Micro Focus have really caned me since 1st July but I do t have to sell so won't.
Problem is I really felt that the last few weeks / months would eventually settle down and things begin to tick again, so have been averaging down and now used all my powder, and they're all still dropping.
It's a really valuable lesson to learn and be able to sit with this uncomfortable pain without reacting.
I'm confident that they will all pick up over the next 6 months, and then I can reduce this overall exposure I have to stocks and shares right now, and have some capital always available to add on future dips.
Even CINE I felt with an average of 78 was not an expensive buy and that is 60 now, I know there are always risks and maybe that is more high risk than most.
I have buying capita from 44 and ran out of top money when it reached 37, due to averaging down on all the others.
I'm sure this time next year it will all be different and showing a profit all round.

I'm not that much of an experienced investor, and currently holding 100k shares at 7k loss on paper.
Reading negative posts constantly from passmore and Laurenti have nearly made me hit the button and take a loss, but then I keep reminding myself that CFO surely wouldn't put a substantial sum of his money in a company that's going down.
And before you derampers say " how do you know it was actually his money"
Well I guess any kind of underhand Co.pany tactic to try and give off a sign of reassurance is possible, but doubtful.

Well all I can say is I'm totally underwater by 20k plus in my isa and sipp, no chance of topping up at these levels as maxed out, so I feel f----d right now. Not selling but feeling its a long road to just break even.

It's another bloodbath all round today by the looks of it, and dow futures also down. Gonna be a terrible day.

You are absolutely right, back page Guardian, don't wanna miss Amc type scenario, PIS could go all in quite quick fearing they will miss the boat. What media tactic do you think this is, who could be behind this?
