I have a personal interest in what you said regarding them getting free everything, 20 years ago I emigrated to Australia, I didn't have a degree or a profession that was on the list so I had to go as self employed. In order to do this I moved from Yorkshire to Norfolk and started my own business with a very small amount of money, it took me ten years to make the business big enough to be worth buying out and having enough turnover and cash at bank to qualify for a visa.

Ten years:

A proven ability to make money and not be a burden, in fact a proven ability to be an asset to the country.

They are the kind of people we want and need, self starters who come with skills and cash.

Not some wet back who's chucked his identity in the English Channel making it hard to send him home or find out he is murderer or/and ra pist, criminal etc.

I can't deny drugs are a problem but they are everywhere in the world and most of it comes from the Middle East.

However that's off subject, we are talking about the cost to society and the economy of Illegal immigrants.

Eventually the govt will give up on supporting the illegals ( I don't mean the legals please note Quady), already the narrative is something akin to care in the community IE fend for yourself. Every day there are hundreds of these people disappearing into the country, working illegally, possibly criminally. Sunak is already talking about getting costs down this way.

So when we get to the stage where you can't walk down the street day or night without being accosted or much worse by people who in general have come from countries were street crime and begging is the norm you will wish,( privately or course, you wouldn't want admit you made a mistake) something more pro active had been done.

And that's not being ra cist as I don't know were they are from.

The govt in this country is complicit anyway, the population is ageing and we will need a small army to wipe our backsides when we are old. Ironically that's exactly what we are getting, a small army who instead of wiping our backsides, theyu'll be kicking them.
