It could simply be due to buying demand today. If a fund or institution is increasing its position, especially since ASOS has joined the main market.

Value is largely opinion based. Price action is everything. To close up (albeit marginally) on higher than average volume, on what is broadly a down day across the market is a bullish sign.

Fugazi1 is referring to the gap in the close price on 7th April 2020 which was 1560p, and the opening on the 8th April 2020 which was 1809p. Some traders believe that a trading "gap" in the price must eventually close, as in the price needs to touch 1560p again for the gap on the chart to close before rebounding. They trade based on this strategy. It doesn't always happen though. If it did then everyone would be trading that way and making easy money.

Definitely a buy. There were no single trades of that size yesterday, and the UT auction at 1635 wasn't of sufficient volume so I imagine it was a worked trade/algo over the course of a few days, completing yesterday.

One thing I've noticed in the last few weeks on Level 2 data, is the closing auction at 1630 always seems to have a lot of orders on the sell side compared to the buy side. Ownership data from Morningstar https://www.morningstar.com/stocks/xlon/saga/ownership seems to suggest that funds and institutions have been selling more than they've been buying. I'd love to see a recovery in the price but that needs someone to start buying in volume and/or something extremely positive from the company itself.

...and before anyone starts a rumour about jet fuel limitations due to lack of HGV drivers (as with petrol forecourts at the moment) - Heathrow and Gatwick have pipelines fed direct from refineries. There are absolutely no issues regarding the supply of aviation fuel, or expected to be.

I agree its a very large UT. Just remember that UT trades are a mix of both buy and sell orders, and they all get matched at one single fixed price - which is the UT trade. So its not necessarily a huge buy or a huge sell. Its a mix of buys and sells with a total volume of 3m, all agreeing on the same price to sell and buy at.

Its not necessarily a buy, just a late reported trade which happens to be at a price higher than the close price, so sites like this "guess" that its a buy based on that. It could have equally been a sell from earlier in the day when the price was at that point. I don't tend to read much in to any trades reported after 1630.

As someone who works in air traffic control, my concern is not whether the airlines will survive, its whether the airports and their associated departments will. We're on the cusp of losing some of our well known airports as there has been absolutely no Government help (beyond furlough and some council rates relief) for any of them, or ATC for that matter. No point having airlines if there's nowhere for them to fly from, or people in the tower to clear them!

A lot of the volume this morning was a couple of trades that were subsequently cancelled due to the wrong price being entered. Two lots of 7.68m shares went through at 1.222p instead of 122p and then got cancelled. Fat finger moment somewhere! Both flagged as TNCP (not price forming) so I wouldn't read too much in to it.

I personally agree and I'm overall bullish still. However there's somewhat of a backlash on Saga's Facebook and Twitter pages this evening. Though I accept that many of those against the idea are not actually Saga's demographic.
