Today is dividend payment date, not ex-dividend date. So its a real drop based on real sells in the market. It may push further down and then go back to 1.10 later. Anyone investing in Vodafone longer term will be familiar with the pattern.

Maybe market expected it to be lower as the share price is 2% up.

This is incorrect. UK economy has recorded 0% growth in July but for the 12 months to July growth was 1.4%. Debt burden has increased slightly (from 95.6% to 96.1%, so 50 bps. not significant). Finally, Vodafone is not UK economy, its diversified to Europe and Africa.

@mole_man - why do you hate Vodafone so much? Nobody thinks Margherita is Elon and we all know the type of people on their board. So why are you here and not on BT groups? It feels like its personal.

Its a massively different experience depending of whom you are with. ii pays dividends on the day, halifax and lloyds are usually next day, hargreaves lansdown like up to a week later. Thats just what i personally experienced. It can feel personal especially if you are doing dividend reinvestment and they seem to time reinvestment the highest price in the last month.

Switching providers is the only thing you can do.

Garonne, this is clearly driving you crazy. There is no point in looking at Vodafone SP daily. Its just not that sort of company.

Just set the calendar to AGM on 29th and spend the time finding your next opportunity. By 29th, if results are good and you got something that looks better sell up and move on. If their results are bad and you got something that looks better sell up and move on. If you still think Vodafone works, stay another month. Just make up some system that lets you make a decision without getting emotional about it. If your need to, change your system and stop blaming yourself.
