I am a great advocate of having a plan and your post has got me thinking in terms of when there can be a difference between a plan and target. To my mind a target is normally a fixed number and that number can be arrived at for any number of reasons such as (dare I mention) paying off the mortgage and that reason is personal to the investor and totally valid for them and their situation.
A plan however can be a fluid target - milestones if you like where you take stock of your personal situation and importantly review the progress of the stock and what additional information has been released by RNS and how does this impact on the possible future direction of the stock both in the SP and the timescale to achieve. Review all the information and make your decision - it might be to sell all / sell part or continue to hold - only your circumstances will lead you to the right answer. The biggest mistake many make on here is judging others investment strategies by their own circumstances - they do not walk in your shoes.
Target or plan - there is no right or wrong other than investing more than you can afford to leave untouched for an unspecified amount of time.
My only other observation is that none of us were born with investment strategy knowledge - we learn as with all things in life with experience and support from others. As LSE has changed it's rules on seeing these (in the main) highly informative posts, we will see a growing number of new posters and they should be treated as you yourself would wish to be treated when hopefully they post on here.

The interesting thing will be to see whether there has been sufficient drilling at SW with sufficiently good results to entice NC into another FarmIn venture or whether the results are good but still more preliminary evidence required for SB to be able persuade his BoD. Of course there is another possible outcome - the results are not good but I am optimistic personally. Time is a great man and will reveal all. I have high hopes but of course no idea. Fortunately I feel that I have already won the lottery with Hav and it's amazing progression to date.

Worth listening to the webcast at around 55 mins for some commentators views on the wider future demands for gold and also copper - all positive against a back drop of lack of exploration over recent years - makes GGP discoveries all that more valuable of course (my words - not theirs).

not sure how I got to 3 ATB but I did mean it sincerely.

As the projects are not contingent on each other Tymers, I thought it was an interesting exercise (for me anyway) to try and second guess the NC BoD play in a certain scenario - passes the time on these dark evenings as I wait for the Ireland Wales match to kick off. We will not understand the true value of Hav (all 4 areas) I suspect for many, many months, by which time I anticipate one or more of our other prospects to have a clear direction of travel on their journey along the value chain. Just my thoughts of course.

Thanks mushroomkid. I totally agree with your logic - just pondering on the internal discussions within NC if the results are as good as we hope at SW. Do they hold out to get the complete picture where they have first refusal or simply crack on with SW and then extend their rights of first refusal on the existing area to tie into a longer timeframe based on SW stages in the same way agreement was set up on Hav. I like the second scenario I have to say. Not much longer to wait in mining time frames to find out. Very exciting as your rightly say.

I have read lots of theories and speculation on here about the SW results and the potential for a new JV with NC. Am I correct in thinking though that we have not seen evidence of any new drilling around Paterson Range East or Blackhills yet? I am just wondering whether the NC BoD would be willing to sign up to a new JV on SW without knowing what the preliminary results were from the other 2 areas, given these fall into the area in which they have first refusal. The answer might be of course that the SW are so good and the proximity to Telfer make a SW deal so sweet that it could not be ignored irrespective of what the other 2 areas might offer. Thoughts welcome as always as we wait on news.

Agreed - so cheap at these levels if it all pans out and I can't see why it won't.

I think the additional good news will be Batangas related prior to the S K deal being finalised. Let's see.

How many of today's sellers will be trying to judge the buy back in before news drops. Not for me. Holding with a heightened sense of anticipation after today's RNS.

This RNS is very welcome -a number of things for me:
1. A BoD that recognises that we (the market and shareholders) need updates - obvious I know but not all AIM companies keep holders up to speed all the time
2. Confirmation of timelines - not long now
3. A clear message of good things to come
This temporary drop in the SP is a windfall for anyone with spare funds at the moment imo.
