As you say pentonville time will tell. The other point that people should really understand is that if any CEO was found guilty of misleading the market would face consequences. I'm yesterday's presentation SD talked about the gold standard of reporting being followed by NCM which he very much endorsed. SD is a very smart chap and words used would have been carefully considered both in the written and verbal download.

Obviously I am not privy to SD's finances but a few thoughts spring to mind when considering your question.
First I come from decades of workng in finance and one of the basic rules is no to assume and to establish the facts. In this case we do not know SD's personal financial position and nor should we other than he is able to hold his current position as CEO.
How much would you want to see him invest? What number would satisfy you or others? I refer to my first point - does he even have that unknown amount of cash? What are his external cash commitments for family etc? All hindsight be fully committed for education purposes for example. You have to walk in someone's shoes to understand their priorities for their funds. You and I are likely to have different plans because we are have varying circumstances.
If your comments are prompted by a need to see a demonstrated commitment then all you need to do is watch his media presentations. SD has put his professional reputation on the line and out there for all to see. If you don't trust him then you need to ask yourself why? My professional experience leads me to always check and analyse as well as considering words used and body language. I have personally no concerns with SD, in fact quite the opposite. I think we are very fortunate to have someone of his calibre.
So returning to your question. Why isn't he invested? Who knows. What I do know is that too much can be misread into directors dealings as you are never likey to know the underlying reason for any directors transaction be it buying or selling.

Our CEO made it very clear that it all starts with Haverion.
Generating free cash in years to come gives GGP the independence to fully exploit existing licences and who knows what else in the future. His growing team will be learning from NCM and their expertise and will adopt their best practices either alongside them, another venture partner or alone. SD certainly has the vision and has youth on his side to take this company a long way down the road. This journey is so much more than Haverion but Haverion is going to be the key to the coffers that can turn the big dreams into a potential reality. Cash is king. You don,t sell the cash cow.

It is natural for us all to be disappointed at the SP reaction today but to be frank if you have been invested here for any length of time then you will know it is part for the course. You learn to look beyond because we also know where the SP will return to and much more on top in time.
Now sit back and basic in the presentations and understand what we have and dreams of where we are going. Also remember a left of field RNS for one of our 100% owned plots could drop and really put a smile back on your face.

Good post hydro. Let's hope for once the SP movement reflects good news. The mantra of sell on news needs to change and this could be a golden (pun intended, sorry!) opportunity for the market and SP to react logically.

Excellent posts hydro and bamps. You have both given the board much to salivate over with your thoughts and investors (current and potential) would do well to consider alongside their own due diligence. The geology is being revealed and whilst the SP has not been in sync recently, I have a strong belief that these will converge over the next 12 months and even the most optimistic amongst us will be very pleasantly surprised.

Whenever this subject is raised it comes down to how can you put a value on GGP with so many unknowns in terms of resource within their licences? As a GGP shareholder I would not accept an number offered that would be acceptable to a Newcrest shareholder at this stage.

Excellent post dickupham. You do not need anyone's affirmation but Jersey is a small place and I concur fully with your post.

The interesting outcome from next week's PFS for me, is whether this is sufficient to give any investment committee the green light to invest. I guess much will depend on their risk appetite and whether they are a specialist gold and or mining fund. Thoughts?

StarBright. I think there is little room in the boardroom these days for sentiment. The BoD is judged on it's performance. The cost of returning Telfer to it's pre-mining state would have been a huge cost drag over a number of years imo. Mr B is looking forward. I was at my son's school last night and there was a poster on the wall saying that the only time to look back, was to see how far you have come. So true.

Last night's news was a timely reminder that so!some of Mr B's calibre and position is highly unlikely to make mistakes in scripted presentations. NC,s investor relations team would have chosen each phrase carefully given the possible regulatory back lash in the event that the !market was mislead.
I look forward to next week's presentation. An understatement if ever there was one!
