Exactly right Nutty-Mike, concentrate numbers are not indicative of the average grades to be found in situ. Also with the occurence of gold within the quartz veins being found sporadically in rich, possibly bonanza amounts, average grades throughout the vein will not be fully ascertainable perhaps until the vein is fully worked and the grade of gold found can then be back calculated against the total of raw ore tonnage removed.

Nutty-Mike, a 6m buy is only valued around £1,500, and the 1m sales being mopped up are valued around £250 each, hardly institutional levels of interest. I hope these are not your own personal attempts at market commentry, I certainly wouldn't want to lend my name to drivel like this...

Who could afford it mate? The price of spot gold is already eye watering, let alone with a Welsh gold premium.

Once the surrounding area at Amitsoq is fully drilled and scoped out, I wouldn't be surprised to see that there is sufficient graphite for both US and EU needs. If there will be a price floor under graphite as well as the REs that can only be good news for us. So many positives lately yet the s/p still drifts...

Better late than never. It was always going to be difficult for multiple capitalist democracies to compete with a far sighted semi autocratic government controlled/supported entity like China. Trump's bullyboy approach to cornering critical assets was over the top but at least it has injected urgency into the matter. Recent US financial initiatives should encourage others to also find funds to contribute. Bodes well for Alba/Groc so I don't know why the s/p should be drifting?

As ever, it's no use to us unless we find sufficient quantities, otherwise a rising gold price is just a slap in the face to long suffering investors here.

But are George and Alba the right people to exploit it? I was in Angel mining 10 years ago, they held two promising assets the Nalunaq gold mine in Greenland and the Black Angel zinc mine nearby, both now owned by Amaroq Ltd. The CEO of ANGM was an accountant, not a miner, and didn't have the experience to bring the projects to fruition, so they went bust. I lost a tidy sum there and don't want history to repeat itself at Clogau.

The parabolic rise in gold is actually starting to become a little troubling. Is it just the result of the US wanting a weaker dollar plus geopolitical tensions, or is it presaging a paradigm shift in the global economy away from fiat money into asset backed currencies? The central banks have certainly been steadily buying gold over the last few years. Or worse is it the Canary in the coalmine warning of a pending economic collapse as in 2007/8? To be honest I'd much prefer a slow and steady rise as these kind of parabolic rises usually end with a chunky sell off and long consolidation period thereafter.

Gold up almost 5% today alone (I'm kicking myself because I sold a coin yesterday) I presume it's the tension over the US armada approaching Iran that's causing it.

Whatever the causes of the continual rise in gold I can only repeat what I said at £2000 gold - it would take an exceptionally incompetent Alba management to fail to deliver meaningful shareholder value here.

Going back to previous calculations on expected gold content of the adjoining quartz veins, I can remember arriving at a rough figure of around 80,000ozs remaining. That's about equal to the total of gold already mined. The current value of that 80kozs would be over £300m.

If George is as good at selling the Motzfeldt pipe dream to some rich American as he did with us at Clogau then I think we're gonna be ok. ;-)

Sure, they'll need cash to operate but balance a 10% or 20% dilution against possible future multibag potential.

US interest and cash could help progress things faster than the EU could manage alone. As my earlier link recommends, a partnership between the two would benefit both sides. Trump has in his own bullying blustering way moved Greenland firmly into the spotlight, setting the stage for cooler heads to work in partnership to deliver the REs. That would be our own best case scenario.
