What I’m really asking is do the TG keep the MoU ‘live’ in the background so in the event that all other tenders don’t match the quality / advancement / cost (or whatever parameters) they can simply say ‘well that’s the best offer we have’ and then just push forward with the Kibo MoU to PPA conclusion? Good update. Now we know that the SEPCO3 buy in is not SML or PPA related, this should be mighty bullish going forward. JD

Indeed SGB. I’m not overly concerned by all of this, as you say it’s just frustrating and a touch bewildering to boot. But ultimately, you have to rely on the viability and strengths of your project and to me Ngaka (Tancoal) and RCPP (EDL) are way behind us with many unknowns not to mention incomplete studies. I would like to see an update on MCIPP soon. The Licence application was due late Q3. Which no doubt was delayed as all resource went to MCPP. JD

Pixie, The answer to that is yes, more than possible. I find it a touch odd that we still have not been told of the ‘tanesco clarification’ yet. I still think on average you have to think that the MoU has been superceedes by this tender process, maybe? However, I wouldn’t be at all shocked if we find out the MoU is still ‘live’ and ongoing to PPA conclusion. It’s a complete unknown! JD

In the last month we have had a full website relaunch and new presentation released. We know the assets and we know the business plan. That business plan by the way has brought us to the brink of a major Chinese state on conglomerate buying into us. Way to much is being made of this drop in SP, what LC has to do is stick to advancing the projects under ownership, the months and years ahead of us will take care of themselves.

As per 2014, shorting has gone on in the past here and nothing would surprise me on AIM. Kibo at the moment lends itself to it, the market doesn’t like the news on MCPP and the volume is woeful, buying volume even worse, this is what happens in such scenarios, that is AIM, it’s known when you invest you have to except this as part of the AIM ‘deal’.

Beyond this current ‘noise’ however, the business is fine, yes, we may have a 6 month plus delay on MCPP (maybe, we still don’t have confirmation if our MoU is still alive or dead) but we can ride it out, we have great assets in MCPP (the furthest advanced IPP in the country) and MCIPP, in 12 months I see MCIPP being at the same stage as MCIPP and BIPP / MED unknown really in terms of programme (but could pleasantly surprise) in a part of the world that is broke and who’s population (Africa wide) is expected to double in the next 32 years to 2050, to catch up with western power consumption their power needs need to multiple dozens of times over through these years, we have no debt, no outstanding liabilities / options / warrants that may cause a nasty surprise and the likes of SPECO and GE are hanging around like a bad smell.

I think perspective is needed at this stage, less than £15k has been traded today and we are 10% down lol. I continue to top up as the 5/10 year business plan will still make me a killing IMHO.

Correct foxy, which is why they are also tendering our wind and solar IPPs for 350Mw. Don’t believe articles like this. They size and cost then go on to say they still need to finalise the DFS for Mchuchuma, so in other words, finger in the air job, like all their projects, most of which will never see the light of day. JD

Seriously? It even tells you what project it’s for (mchuchuma power plant). These are all National Development Corporation (NDC) projects and 100% governmental procured, funded and run and NOT IPP projects. The tender is specifically for 600Mw and is for private funded and run power plants. It’s not even related to each other!! Interesting paper below on 230Kv Double Circuit Transmission Line Costs. These are 2014 numbers based on figures in the western continental western United States. So some imagination to tie them to 2020+ figures in Tanzania. However, it shows that a 230Kv Double Circuit Line (same as the 100km Line Tancoal / Sinohydro have to construct as part of their scheme at Ngaka) costs approx USD$1.536m per mile (near on USD$1m per Km). So their feasibility study would look to add circa USD$100m+ to their costs due to this. Sinohydro have the same parent company as SEPCO3 (China PowerConstruction) they won’t be handing out free rides to any complies, think ya with SEPCO3, they haven’t funded a sausage, we only get paid at F.C. and have had to fund everything. Tancoal and EDL will have to do the same, Sinohydro won’t be handing out 8 figure sums to complete the DFS, permitting or whatever. One of the reasons I am scratched my my head at this whole process. Tender all you want, to get funding / financing at the end of all of this you need a bombproof DFS for Equity and Funding. Both these parties are years off it..... JD
