Considering how LC likes to keep all and sundry out of the top positions at Kibo (such as keeping SEPCO at a good distance from the BoD and decision making) the fact that we let Shumba have a seat on the BoD is a big one (up to them if they decide to sit on it). As Shumba’s deal with Lurco demonstrates. Don’t be surprised if SEPCO areput to one side and replaced on the Equity side by an African player, as the Shumba and Lurco stories show, being African and part of the ‘Black Empowerment’ story really helps in this part of the world. Bcl, I don’t know if I can agree with you on one particular aspect of you post, Kibo Energy PLC and SEPCO3 are two distinct companies and all that goes with that. I have great relationships with other companies in the sphere in which I operate, however, when it comes to financial interests I wouldn’t expect any of them to just give me what I ask for, they will fight for what is best for them / they’re company and vice versa. The same goes for Kibo and SEPCO3.

It’s a slow burner that seems to get slower by the day, on that we will agree.

In the position we are in, on the cusp of two mining licences and the fact that we will be needing more money eventually to progress all matters, if others are willing to put cash in to the business then I am all for calling SEPCO’s bluff in such matters. The clearly want what we are doing or they wouldn’t have bothered signing two EPC Contracts for MCPP and they are clearly not wanting to run from the JDA either no matter how much they are procrastinating. What they really want (and you can’t blame them) is a risk free, no money up front free ride on the Kibo Express, why the fuuk should we have to do all the heavy lifting?

We are debt free and hold all the stakes in our own projects, we are in a much stronger negotiating position than some think.

A lot from both the tone and terse nature of the RNS IMHO. In the typical Chinese manner they are no doubt trying to ‘wring’ the best deal they can from Kibo or are waiting till some risk is ‘off’ the table (we all know what that is). Either way, if they aren’t playing ball and someone else is sniffing your leg you wrap a bow on it and move on. It’s only business after all. JD

Catch the late news out of GCM on Friday regarding their fundraising through a loan facility? Not for a great deal of cash either even considering their MoU with Power China. It does go to show that no matter how compelling your projects fundamentals are, the Pre Development of these projects are bloody tough. Echos with Kibo too where to keep hold of the value / percentages of the project you have to raise funds at stupidly discounted rates to the eventual project sums. Cash, as always, is king, and becwell funded is an imperative to a healthy SP........SEPCO tomorrow RNS I think. Let’s see what it brings. JD

What these honest timelines show is just how long term these Energy projects are. MCPP has been nearly a decade in the planning through various stages of proving, feasibility and permitting and NCCL’s project in Moz has been going even longer than that. But what it also shows is the viability of alternatives are close to nil. There is simply no alternative to these advanced projects in both countries (Bots too for that matter) as the alternatives would take another decade to get it to the same position. MCPP in our case simply has / will go ahead. JD
