There is obviously a bigger issue at the heart of the GoT! No SML’s have been approved, considering that Peak Resources want to drop USD$205m (as per their DFS) on a graphite mine / processing plant with no financial risk whatsoever to the GoT and create jobs, exports and wealth and they still haven’t got the SML tells you this has nothing to do with the ‘tender process’ on a coal power plant and only a disingenuous little twerp would suggest otherwise.

Beyond this, they GoT has failed their population. It’s is outrageous that you should curtail ‘easy wins’ like this for a poor economy.

Spot on as ever, Dave. Would be nice to see what the new ‘commercial’ opportunity is at MCIPP. Reading back through the RNS it could possibly be to supply coal to a secondary market (South Africa perhaps). 303 million tonnes is a lot of coal with a full ML to play with..... JD

The 200Mw Geothermal will cost about USD$800m btw, I’ll believe it when I see it and the programme in Stiegler`s is an ongoing joke, as is Tanzania. Thank goodness LC diversified when he did. Not that I don’t believe MCPP will happen, I firmly believe it will, but that well and truly in the back burner for now. JD

What I take from the RNS is that it is a reinforcement of the First Equity Broker Note and timelines, etc. He obviously is feeling a lot more confident to put his head above the parapet in late Jan at an Investor Meeting, again, you have to take heart at that witha View to the timelines outlined. As for fundraising, as the RNS intimate, there are obviously funding options out there, may be a deleveraging of the MCIPP Equity Stakeholding, who knows, but LC has never struggled to get funding and I don’t really see the issue going forward, either. Should be a very good 2019 if this strategy and timelines are adhered to. JD

Dave, Correct. If the opposite were true how can you explain BML’s 55% purchase of Vametco for a measly $USD11.1m only 14 months ago. An outrageously good investment for what at the time was a large ‘dilution’. There are phenomenal value bargains out there to be had (of course you hindsight will prove you correct). JD

All joking aside, we really should be hearing of ‘Stage 2’ in the GoT Coal Tender Process very shortly. JD

Has anyone got to the bottom what PL/12926/2018 (marked as Copper on the Tanzanian Mining Cadastre Portal) is actually for?

As Wimbledon points out it went to ‘application recommended’ yesterday, however, we aren’t interested in Copper, so this should be for ‘coal’ surely, it’s also only 10km or so south east from us on the trajectory of the known ‘coal’ belt? It’s adjoining / next to PL/12588/2018 (marked as Coal / Energy Minerals / Jonathan Estomith Madon) which has also just gone to ‘application recommended’.

Has to be MCPP related!

Fro memory I think Walkabout Resources Mine was to be USD$205m or something like that based on the DFS. It’s incredulous that a government of a poor country like Tanzania doesn’t want that kind of investment ASAP, same as MCPP for that reason. Proportional to the size of their economy these projects are huge and and expedite huge growth, eventually, you would think the penny would drop. JD
