You know Lurker, I’ve been involved on a good few construction financing deals over the years on some pretty big stuff and I’ve yet to meet a financier who will open their doors and sign a binding and exclusive term sheet with a company for a USD$900m credit line on the basis of a bit of a goof and is open to ‘all and sundry’.

In amongst that mad ramble, you’ve actually (inadvertently) hit the nail on the head, you are correct that no debt provider would touch you with a barge pole unless your project specifics where rock solid and you had the requisite Equity guarantees behind you.

So what does that then tell you if Kibo are now getting on with the process of securing the debt...???

Whatever you think of LC taking more shares, etc, the hard truth is it won’t make the blindest bit of difference in the long term. Only company fundamentals give you a good MCAP / SP. I’m more than happy where I am in terms of Kibo v EDL side of the fence. Others may disagree. JD JD

Reading between the lines it would appear that the new(ish) mineral minister is possibly the appointment we needed all the time. He obviously appears much more bullish on Foreign Investment than his meek predecessors and is happy to try and get the licences and deals done.

I'm not being flippant here, however I must ask then if that's true what is the point of investing in a Junior Share if you don't believe it's intrinsic value goes up when capital is spent and development milestones are met? If that's the case for as an example SOLG then why are the likes of BHP and Newcrest jockeying for position on a project that is years away from ever producing or making a single penny? Specifically, why are SEPCO still hanginger around here like a bad smell if it not worth much? There is a vast difference on what the market currently rates something and what it's actually worth in the right hands. JD

I wonder how much of a ‘rethink’ the TG has undergone in the last few days on its strategy??? Only recently the IMF has forecast Direct Foreign Investment has fallen drastically in proportion to GDP ratios, 5% in 2017 down to 2% in 2018, which is appalling for a developing nation. Possibly a question of act now before it’s too late??? JD
