RE: Holidays v Vaccination v Testing23 Feb 2021 15:52
As a holder here for a good few years my investment was based on the therapeutics potential and I am not underwater, so I guess that's why I am a little more relaxed about the outcome of the LFT situation (and actually okay with the delays if they are a necessary evil to protect the Afifmer IP).
However, I do try to look at this from the view of someone who bought in on the Covid draw. Really simply here is why I dont quite understand a number of those views. So here it goes:
In search of a quick return investing in Covid stocks, which were primed for spikes and hypes as the herd rushed into them. How did you not see:
1. Many of these were small businesses not ready for the scale of the task ahead.
2. This revolved around an UNKNOWN virus, goalposts were always going to be moved.
3. Governments were involved. Red tape, bureaucracy, ineptitude, BREXIT! Was always going to be a nightmare.
4. Unique products and tech were being developed. In the biomed space this takes years and multiple iterations. As per point 1, even if you had your piece down to a tee (e.g. Affimers) the reliance on others is a ticket to delays.
5. There was a chance Covid could have disappeared in 3 months so "missed the boat" moaning is pointless as the boat is still here.
Feel for people underwater - but buying in on the Covid play was 100% the riskiest time to invest in AVCT and all that is playing out now is some of that risk which should have been factored in to that investment for all the reasons I mentioned above.
