The BOD made it very clear in their answers, which was a point brought up before on this board. To get the best prices for deals and to get the business, the board needs to do work behind closed doors to ensure competition do not get wind of what is being done. This is why they are getting great deals on buys and working with prospective clients. If they were to broadcast it before completion there would be two major challenges:
1: Competitions would know HNR's plans and could move in to take advantage themselves this pushing prices up or ruining the deals that we could have got incognito. (Makes a lot of sense!)
2. If they were to shout it out to shareholders, competition were to get wind of it, move in and put the boot into what would have been a really sweet deal, then certain extremely negative shareholder would be screaming at them for losing the deal by telling everyone. So they are being sensible.... they are catering to the vast majority of shareholders that are smart enough to know that the BOD have their best interests at heart and that the work they are doing is for building the companies asset and real value growth as well as developing the profitability of the company for the future rather than just today.
Lets face it what will you do when this share hits 20 (again!) SELL!, They are not interested in you, they are interested in long term positive investors that add stability and loyalty to the company.
I personally would rather have a pound plus a share at the end of the year than 20p at the end of this month.
Yes the share price will rise as nearly all share prices rise at some point like the GYGs and even Carrillion rose with all its problems, many times and fell many times. HNR are a tiny company with limited shareholders compared to the big movers. Once this share gets positives in Investors Chronicle, Shares Magazine and all the other investment mediums and news papers it will rise quickly, probably in big steps, (which is not always good) as there are limited places for this share to be seen currently so a wider range of sources will increase potential investor numbers. It suits the purpose of the board now to ebsure thry stay under the radar. When it is time the media will find out and will tout this share, new buyers will come in their droves and the share will lift off.
Unfortunately, you think of HNR Kansas as the Yellow Brick road to quick profit, event Dorothy had many stops along the way.
At last this is my opinion!
