Independent oil and gas company Enegi has announced that it has reached an agreement to potentially farm out part of block 22/12b in the UK North Sea to Azimuth, a group with which Enegi has an existing relationship. The block, which is currently 100% owned by Enegi and ABTechnology, contains the Phoenix discovery and a number of potential exploration opportunities. Under the agreement, Azimuth will earn a 50% interest in the exploration area in exchange for the completion of an agreed work programme that includes certain geological, geophysical and reservoir analysis utilising existing seismic and well data in respect of both the phoenix area and the exploration area. This will be done within the first 12 months of signing the agreement.

Circle Holdings has secured a contract renewal to provide healthcare services through the Nottingham National Health Service (NHS) Treatment Centre for a further five years. It follows a seven-month tender process managed by NHS Midlands and East's Strategic Projects Team on behalf of Principia Rushcliffe Clinical Commissioning Group. Circle has been running Nottingham's NHS treatment centre for the past five years as a day surgery facility. The previous contract stipulated that the treatment centre's services be re-tendered after a five-year period.

Forbidden Technologies, the developer of cloud-based editing platform FORscene, has formalised a licence agreement with Atos, the South African systems integrator. The agreement allows Atos to add FORscene to its South African portfolio. It also enables Forbidden to run its own FORscene Cloud, providing hosting, administration and consulting on web-enabled workflow solutions to media clients in South Africa and across the African continent. The licence provides for an up-front payment to Forbidden, with the majority of revenue expected to arise from royalties as Atos clients licence the platform from Atos. Up to this point, all FORscene Cloud Servers have been built and supported by Forbidden.

Greig Blayney, Service Manager Environment at Dumfries and Galloway Council, said the products would replace old wheeled bins to help separate recyclable goods. "Our contract with Straight will play a pivotal role in supporting our maiden kerbside recycling initiative," he said. "Previously, all residual waste has been collected using wheeled bins, but with our new service encompassing three separate products, we are confident the process will be smooth and successful."

Environmental products group Straight has been awarded a 1.07m pound contract with Scotland's Dumfries and Galloway Council. Straight will supply bins for the council's maiden kerbside recycling initiative. A 7.0 litre kitchen caddy and 23 litre kerbside caddy will be used for food waste collection. The group will also supply a 55 litre Ergo kerbside box for mixed glass, metals and plastics along with a 44 litre Ergo kerbside box for paper and card recycling. "We are delighted to have been chosen to support the council on its first ever kerbside recycling initiative," Jonathan Straight, Chief Executive of Straight, said. "The contract win is testament to our recycling expertise and hardwearing products that have been tested across UK Local Authorities over many years. We very much look forward to working with the council."

Canadian mining group Kirkland Lake Gold said an ice storm delayed the delivery of gold in the third quarter of fiscal year 2013. The company sold 17,389 ounces of gold out of an output of 22,261 ounces. Road closures due to bad weather halted the delivery of the last 4,271 ounces to a gold refinery where it was to be sold until February 1st, the group explained. The gold will remain in inventory and in will be sold in the fourth quarter. Overall production results are slightly ahead of plans to meet the company's guidance of 90,000 to 110,000 ounces for fiscal year 2013. Head grade in January improved considerably to 0.39 ounces per tonne. The company plans to increase production in the next quarter after introducing a new operational service cage.

Online games group Zattikka announced Monday a new partnership with Russian sports website Championat. Championat will promote Zattikka's web browser football game Hattrick on its site through a series of campaigns. Zattikka said the agreement extends its reach to Russia and increases cross-selling opportunities for Hattrick which will adopt the easy sign up interface used by Championat for its games. Championat is Russia's No.1 sports portal which publishes news, scores, analytical data, videos and online broadcasting. The site had 5.0m visitors generating more than 170m page views in January. Mark Opzoomer, Chief Executive Officer of Zattikka, said: "We are delighted that Hattrick and Championat are working together, offering Hattrick exposure to a large football audience and raising its profile in Russia. "Russia is a key growth market for the company given the growing popularity of both gaming and football. This also represents more evidence of the international appeal and longevity of the Hattrick franchise."

In a statement the company explained that PPC acquired the Elizavetovskoye licence in November 2004 and finalised the joint production agreement for the three legacy wells on the licence in late 2011. It restored the M-53 well to production in April 2012 and will consequently receive 33% of the production from it. The well continues to flow at 2.7m cubic feet per day on a restricted choke. PPC is now proceeding with a five well development of the licence and initial drilling of the first new well is scheduled for mid-year ahead of installation of new production facilities in the third quarter. First gas is anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2013.

JKX Oil & Gas announced Monday that it has upwardly revised its proven and probable reserves for its Elizavetovskoye Field in the Ukraine. The proven and probable reserves were revised to 22bn cubic feet (3.7m barrels of oil equivalent), with a further 20m barrels of oil equivalent of net prospective resources in the licence. This followed long-term testing of the legacy East Machevksa 53 well under a joint production agreement between JKX's wholly owned subsidiary Poltava Petroleum Company (PPC) and the well owner and former operator of the field. KX Chief Executive, Dr Paul Davies, said: "We are very pleased that the data collected from our joint activity with the Ukrainian state production company has demonstrated both the materiality of the 2P reserves and the significant prospective resources on our Elizavetovskoye licence."

He added: "Our new product development and acquisition strategies, coupled with the changes we've effected in our sales organisation, position us to take advantage of the market expansion and growth opportunities validated in Forrester's market assessment. As a result, we believe we are now at a turning point and should begin to once again report software license and total revenue growth." Commenting on the company's figures, this is what analysts at Investec had to say: "Kofax's second quarter results are disappointing (...) Kofax has lowered fiscal year guidance (...) This suggests a circa 15% downgrade to our estimate and is a further reminder that Kofax remains susceptible to macro pressures and quarterly volatility. We place our forecasts and target price under review pending the meeting."

Total revenue for the quarter ending December 31st declined by 9.0 per cent at Kofax, underpinned by lower than anticipated performance in licences. The company, which provides smart process applications to businesses, reported that its total revenue had fallen to $63.7m from $70m in the corresponding quarter in 2011. Software licence revenue for the quarter decreased by 3.6% to $123.8m. Income from operations for the quarter decreased 18.0% to $47.1m and income from operations for the quarter decreased 38.3% to $3.8m. Reynolds Bish, Chief Executive Officer of Kofax, pointed to the performance of the licence business as a key reason for the decline in total revenue during the quarter. It also supplies solar systems and has a new product line called Solar Energy Storage, which will be released to the market in the second quarter of 2013. The group is expected to report a turnover of circa 3.0m and to break even in operating profits for last year. The integration of the SPower is anticipated to result in cost synergies of about 200,000 per annum, but to increase turnover to 5.0m. "The acquisition of SPower allows Proton Power to enlarge its offering for stationary power solutions," Chief Executive of Proton Power, Dr. Faiz Nahab, said. "As a company, we can importantly offer complete systems to our customers. The new battery storage solution of SPower for solar systems will have an extremely positive impact on our business. The process optimisation and cost savings will also have positive effects and will enhance value for our shareholders."

Proton Power Systems has agreed to acquire SPower Holding GmbH and its subsidiary SPower GmbH for 5.0m euros. The company, which designs and produces hydrogen fuel cells and hydrogen fuel cell electric hybrid systems, said it will merge SPower with its subsidiary Proton Motor Fuel Cell GmbH. The newly merged company will continue to operate under the name of Proton Motor Fuel Cell GmbH. SPower's products will be sold under a product line called SPower within Proton Motor. SPower was formed in 2007 and supplies power solutions to IT, Telecoms, public infrastructure and healthcare customers in Germany, Europe and Middle East.

IDS will be paid 3.5m in a series of milestone payments and Stago will also contribute 1.0m to the development of the IDS-iSYS mark II. Both programmes are expected to take between two and three years to complete. IDS said it also expects to earn revenues from the sale of instruments, ancillary products and royalties. Immunodiagnostic Systems (IDS), which produces manual and automated specialist diagnostic testing kits and instrumentation for the clinical and research markets, has unveiled what it described as a 'significant collaboration' with Diagnostica Stago, a French-based producer of coagulation and haemostasis diagnostic kits and instrumentation. Following a successful feasibility project, IDS and Stago have established a collaboration partnership that will assist Stago in developing coagulation and haemostasis assays for use on the IDS-iSYS immunoanalyzer. As part of this collaboration, Stago has also agreed to help fund IDS' development of the IDS-iSYS mark II instrument and eventually deploy it in their fields of expertise.
