I'm pleased for you bud,I don't know anyone else in profit on them! I was briefly and sold a load at 120(I think) but have been chasing them down from a quid since and they're standing at a humongous loss currently! If they pay 3.6 or preferably more then it'll be worth it!!!

Coming up shortly I think are HFEL,MXF on quarterlies. BATS have grabbed my attention as the divvy is in a few weeks and they're on a year low, I'm yet to go in though. STAN still dropping,HSBA just too cheap(IMO). IMT looking cheap but ex and LAD right on the nose for income/recovery but not sure when they'll recover or pay a divvy. BG cheap as chips but the yield is too low for me to go in. BATS need to drop to about 28 to get 5% by my calcs but might be a good one to trade the div? CNA and SSE both totally hammered on the political interference/risk but they makes them a contrarian buy. Wasn't so long ago NG was five and a half and the fear factor that the regulator would kill the div cleared off. If I wasn't totally overloaded in SSE I'd have a few now. The Chinese one earlier might be worth a butchers. HSD I've been adding to and bought a few MTC today though no yield so effectively a spec in my book.

Evening bud. Strange day,just mentioned on the other board how odd it is the normal defensives like tobacco and supermarkets seem to have tumbled so much. Bought some new yield ones today,a Chinese manufacturer of footwear etc and more importantly a projected yield of 6p on average 60p entry,called naibu global,NBU. Thought jubilee platinum had gone up until I realised they've dropped below 2p now plus those aminex ones dropped on a placing and 00 so I seem to have more of them all of a sudden. Interesting fat fingers spike story on hsba earlier...they got suspended briefly whilst it was sorted out! No significant risers though centrica and sse up for some reason(not much though!).

Don't blame you taking profit on a spec when there's quality on offer price bud. I fear the special offers might extend tomorrow as cuki points out the Dow is down too! Holding both those two and plenty of others in that department but no goldplats yet! Added to FOGL today and a few FRR for the hell of it. Mwana looks like one of few risers after a quick look at the specs. Mains,still looking....!! Glad to see someone adding cuki,I wouldn't at this price but each to their own!

No trades for two weeks..wow! I don't really understand the deferred shares thing either mate,just think it's a wild card share and in with a fair chunk to see what happens. Bought some MXF today on yield and sold more carillion as they've gone beyond my expectations. Not particularly happy with the paper losses all over the p/f all of a sudden but have taken profits to maximise yield in the main account and specced up with a few average downs on a few in the sipp. Glad to hear things up over the pond cuki. The old girl is normally just behind clln so either one's too high or the other too low..hmmmm. Catch up tomorrow all.

Good to see you posting thistle,hope life treating you well. Yes its a funny old game we play in and I agree we so often fly by the seat of our pants and no one gets top or bottom for that matter but we all strive to maximise advantage wherever we see the opportunities and as AA points out know the risks we take...importantly we take those risks rather than just talk about it! There's so many examples of wishing we had as well as wishing we hadn't but I suspect the latter is more often the case! Most things find their level and most of what we do is follow our instincts as it's our own hard earned on the line.

Thankfully I didn't chuck the kitchen sink at them(hmv) as I did woollies a few years back...that was my worst after rbs of course! I do look at charts to try and get a feel for the flow of things and particularly the zigzag effect which implies there's a zig after a zag,RDSB being a cracking example of the one year graph but in isolation I don't believe any method can be relied on as we all know the only predictable thing about share prices is their unpredictablility!

Did you have to mention HMV lol!! Don't really have strong opinions on the retail side other than the big three listed ones have dropped considerably recently as cuki noticed too and what goes down normally bounces. Unlike miners etc I perceive a defensive quality in them,a tad dull but I think they should be higher than they are currently and if not the yields are okay-ish. Enjoy your haggis! Well done on VED cuki and good to see you pop by mate. The markets normally drop so they can go back up again. I don't take much notice of the mains just individuals but I think banks as in the yielding ones are well overdue a hearty bounce and I wouldn't be surprised if the supermarkets go up a few in the next few weeks(and I'll be irritated if they go the other way!!!).

I like the reason to shop there mate,a man after my own heart!! I prefer to bulk buy at Costco which removes a lot of the hassle...no lookers there though!

Possibly but only going on what I see around me,the big ones have full carparks and lidl is empty whenever I drive past,if there's an aldi in town I've never seen it but in fairness shops arnt my thing!!

I never go to any of them as my truck is a sod to park! Co-op over the road or waitrose if I'm feeling flush as they seem to have bigger spaces around the back. Needless to say...I'm not feeling particularly flush today!

Had a shuffle around this morning,took the profit on admiral,reduced clln by half and bought tesco,sains and morrisons and more hsba....plus with regret more man group which dropped another 2p widening my already wide paper loss even further! Sounds like you're covering a lot of miles AA,I won't moan about my trip from Weston to npton this weekend!! VIY open offer over-subscribed apparently which might be a good sign. Haven't done much on specs this week. Mwana back in loss but thankfully traded a load of extras last week as with IFL beginning of the week. My other beauties are cyan,JLP,EDL(yes I did!),CZA and bought a handful of NWR for the simple reason they've dropped do much and caught my eye. Might tuck a few TALV away as the imminent bankruptcy risk seems to have subsided? On Main Street there's too many bargains to list but I think the supermarkets are overdone and I've never seen their carparks empty during opening hours despite the fact apparently everyone shops at lidl or goes to food banks these days?!

Yes mine showing too and the blackrocks payday tomorrow. I've got a chunky IMT one in the pipeline too. Around 20-25 main account ones and a lot of quarterly ones in there so a steady stream although I have continually moved stuff around(except the grids and anything else still over 5%) except another reduction in admiral today as I had too many before. My aims are all in the sipp and pretty much all showing a loss!
