Quick glance through the world news and see the Ruskies still trying to lecture anyone that’ll listen on being role models despite invading their neighbours and killing people at will, Frenchies telling the yanks they’ve got bigger friends in China now so let’s hope for them the jerries don’t have another go….conflict everywhere in fact!
Meanwhile spring happening here and blossom and budding leaves everywhere and all looking good.
A few recent additions on shares, nothing notable although it feels like it at the time!

Scary how quickly confidence can be eroded and with all those people doing online banking and investing in all these weird banks,crypto’s etc etc they can all draw down their money without even writing a cheque!

Spring in the step, trees budding and looks like I might be coming out of the bunker if I’m reading it right the Swiss govt is paying for the bigger bank to swallow the smaller bank and underwriting it and any shareholders get shafted in the process like RBS buying HBOS scenario?
Anyway if it reverses the process and the shares go back up I’ll be happy!

Hi Sain, this one bouncing around quite a bit on news….or is it the spread?!
Even sleepy agents now waking up to the idea they might need to open after 5.30 evenings and do accompanies viewings at weekends, maybe even try and negotiate deals and go up and down the chain to make it happen…not quite sure where this lot or strike fit in, as you suggest they’re just money-raisers and in terms of generating fee income I can’t see it beyond twisting mug punters on bolt ons.
Interested to see it unfold but I have to say unfold it will whether in its current or bought out(from whatever format!), in the words of Jimi Hendrix…castles made of sand…..!
Good luck punters, I really mean that but please don’t look at this as an investment in estate agency.

Cheers bud I’ll have a look at them, had them years ago and from memory they only used to pay once a year,will investigate. BA. a bit too high for my palate having had them before at half what they are now….should have kept them! Haven’t seen any newts of late but they’re probably in there somewhere! The badger sett has become very active too, they can’t half shift soil!

Evening all,hope everyone doing okay. Yet another hit on income today with persimmon dropping the divvy, annoyingly they didn’t do a ‘good housekeeping’ rise so double whammy arrrghhhh!
Troj, three wild ducks on the pond along with moorhens plus the badgers are making new entrances nearby which is positive.

Not sure if that’s for me but good luck. My big dilemma currently is whether to watch the Godfather on tv later bearing in mind I’ve already got the full pack on video and dvd!
I don’t like the company and I don’t like their ‘MO’ and I’d never invest but I’m always open for a punt on shares and I’m still sitting on the fence, could go either way and keep your exits in view mate. ATB

Laura, I don’t think Sain or any of us have slated the SP potential here, the company and mo, yes….and deservedly!
If your punt pays off for you I’m sure we’ll be happy for you but your interpretation of background and objectivity is not meant to be a challenge and bear in mind some of us have been around a long time so step back, don’t look for animosity and good luck….again!

It’s an interesting scenario here.
Those of us looking at this from the inside are well aware of the irritation of having a PB sale in a chain, worse than a private seller lol, the disregard and depreciation of standards and the fact the model is flawed from day 1.
I find the adverts on tv very irritating because I recently tried to check out a property for a friend and after several attempts to find out about it told them not to bother and would say they are sales-prevention rather than anything good whichever side of the desk you’re on.
As a punt I think we all agree there might be something lurking here, our common denominator.
I’m on the fence in this regard,dabbled before but watching closely.
Good luck those ‘in’ and as I’ve said before no beef either way.
Investing in a loss making company that promises and doesn’t deliver isn’t what this is about, seeing an opportunity to trade a share price nothing wrong with that.

Never ceases to amaze me how much money has been wasted here and elsewhere by people who don’t understand the fundamentals of estate agency!

Hi Sain, I think one point needs to be injected with reality on the ‘take over’ debate which is that the register/instructions/stock is unlikely to hold value and from personal experiences with any buyout on whatever terms, the instructions will walk whether they’re locked in or not.
Value is in the brand only imo and I do recall a gaggle of posters getting artsy with us when these dropped to 30p when we didn’t join the over-exuberant chat at that time.
I have no beef with holders or with anyone hoping to get their money back or even make a profit and it’s very easy to be objective whilst on the sidelines!
My advice is to not place too much emphasis on the register. GLA
