The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Haha! Troj wanted to see the main pond etc and after a lot of fiddling around here it is!
Fantastic news, I’d written these off until I noticed the credit in my earnings account today thinking it was a mistake! Also didn’t realise there was still a board servicing the prefs, thanks for the links everyone.
I bet the robots wouldn’t know how to put the right rocks together on a stone wall!
I’ve put the request in bud…………and would love to share some images.
It’s mostly mixed natives with a lot of fruit trees added and the willows in the boggy bit. The blackthorns are great because they spread with runners and the smaller birds nest in them as seem to be able to navigate the thorns, not sure if anything eats the sloes as they’re trully bitter although I’ve made sloe gin for a friend and they’re still alive so can’t be that bad!
Technology for the sake of it if you ask me mate. Had to do something for the solicitor the other day which involved emailing, downloading a pdf, printing off, signing and then after a lot of buggering around I photo’d and emailed it back…..with a caption ‘ this would have been a lot easier with a fax machine’!
Okay mate, I’ll see what I can do. This is why I’ve never done internet banking etc because I could get hacked and not even know about it lol.
The main pond is full and there’s a pair of moorhens in residence currently, it’s at the bottom of the field down from ‘Wassatt corner’ who’s probably thinking I’ve gone a bit bonkers on the blackthorn and willow planting….all from cuttings so free except for the rabbit guards!
If it’s free I’m sure she’ll oblige them I can post on here I guess as years ago we used to send songs from memory. I have got WhatsApp but you’d need a phone number for that and I do have Richard’s email from years ago but previously sent a photo to that and never heard back?
I haven’t even got a utube tab on my phone and the last time I tried to download an app I got into all sorts of trouble with passwords etc etc!
Just asked my girlfriend who’s quite savvy(does internet banking lol), but she hasn’t got an account with utube but the request has been made!
I assumed they were the same as Evraz, dead in the water but for some reason a divvy is showing from last week…..maybe it’s a taunt! I’ll speak to the brokers next week but wonder if anyone else on here has any? The preference shares….
Morning Troj, I can email a photo, no idea how utube works?
Just looked on my account and there seems to be a divvy from Raven Russia, I had a load of the prefs but assumed they went bust after the madman tried to invade his neighbour as they’re delisted as far as I know….Russian warehouses, what could be safer lol
Hi Mick, it’s not an account as such, just a tab on my phone with watchlists and portfolios similar to the ones on lse but the lse one works and you can input the averages and keep a watchful eye!
Purple bricks just cheapened the standards in my experience and whenever we came across them in a chain you struggled to get chain details or progress the sale for your own clients, I had a few shares in them a while back looking for a bounce after a drop which never happened and have only looked in at them out of curiosity I guess mate. Like anything a punt for some people but not for me.
The insurers etc tried to disrupt in the ‘80’s and I remember the Pru were the first to pull the plug….great for the business owners at that time to sell for mega money and buyback for peanuts, alas that was before I ended up owning the practice I worked in!
Hi Nom, cheers for the heads up on that mate. We’ve put 500 or so blackthorns in and mulched around them with homemade leaf etc compost so they should be okay but the willows only protection is rabbit guards and chucked a load of dead thistles etc around them but they’re mainly ‘goat willow’ cuttings straight into the ground and have done over a thousand rabbit guarded and the ones on top are well chewed so waiting to see if the roots develop below and send up side shoots quicker than the rabbits can munch the bark off!
We nurture the wildlife and have moorhens down at the main pond and won’t allow any shooting plus we put some big bunds/embankments in a few years back and are now like Swiss cheese with the burrows and the muntjac are frequent visitors but don’t seem to be living there at the moment.
Small birds are nesting everywhere and the firebreak grass ‘ roads’ hardly need mowing unlike the fenced off areas which are abundant….the things I get up to when not waiting for x,y or Z to move a penny or a pound and chasing the divs!!
Evening all,hope everyone okay?
Mick, just curious as I think you use ‘baha’ ….I’ve got my main portfolios on there but lately they don’t update much?
Troj….still busy planting blackthorns for cover and willows for fast growing wood production before the end of the month, was in Wickes the other day and saw a small bag of fancy logs that wouldn’t fill a wheelbarrow for 28 quid a bag….who buys these I wonder?!!!
With disrupter brands is that once they’ve disrupted, what else can they do apart from cheapen the whole image of agency with poor service and conning the connable into buying into bolt on sales/services which I would strongly argue are contrary to the fiduciary duty agents are supposed to have for their clients.
They also set themselves up for a good kicking from the good agents who’ve had a gutful of them messing up sales progression in particular.
Regarding the SP, it’s a brave punt on a buyout/recovery and since I’m in the camp of giving them a well-deserved kicking I won’t be rejoining this one! Good luck for those who do.
Hope you’re all doing okay, more of the same this end, planting and cutting back and put a ‘Wassatt corner’ plaque on a post the other day where I planted a few trees after we lost him. Never been a great fan of online etc but you lot have always been great friends in this posting world we live in and he was always such a friendly bloke and sorely missed by us all.
Mostly divvy stuff with the odd punt here and there since we last caught up, nothing standout. Catch up soon guys.
And an impressive geographical reach, Australian holdings too in the big mix, sometimes I look into the holdings these diversified trusts have and to get that variety on individual holdings would be quite prohibitive on costs alone!
Good chatting, all the best mate.
The 6ppq seems to be nailed on now(however they generate it lol), and like you say hopefully we’ll see the underlying holdings increase the SP with recovery in this geographical reach, China particularly has been held back so long with their covid measures imo.
The dividend history here has been impressive over the years, hate the term but it does ‘do what it says on the tin.’
Same old if you ask me!
If I don’t like a company for some reason and I felt compelled to knock it constantly I’d just sell and invest in something that I do agree with!
Looking forward to our next 6pps in a couple of weeks mate.
