To be honest I was not confident that they would hold, I was thinking they were going to sell. I am very pleased with that. I guess it's true that the sp has risen over the last few weeks, so I must have been in the minority in my thinking. I thought investors were reacting to the movement away from ANS and possibly the results from SA.
I thought the share price would have reacted better to the RNS we had this morning.
Someone with experience in Africa and RAB cementing their relationship with Kefi.
August could be a very interesting month one way or another.
From memory I think he did an interview saying that the results were expected the first and second week of July. So it could be as soon as tomorrow. Obviously this is not the same as an RNS, but I'm sure one way or another we will have an update of some description shortly.
WRT. the offtake quote in the interview. He said that the min would be 200-300, however the customer may require 450-500. This he said should be known by mid-Aug. Therefore I would imagine he is preparing the stockpile to be at the higher figured quoted by the end of August and the lower figure by mid Aug. The fact that he has made the placing now suggests he has prepared the funds to cover them up to the end of August should the customer ask for the higher amount. I would anticipate no more placings between now and the time of shipment based on this, as long as there are no mishaps.
To be honest I think AP is quite happy at the moment to concentrate on getting into production in Romania, rather than worrying about the diamonds. I would imagine he is excited about selling the first quantities and making a profit, then he has ONE under his belt. After that he can focus more on Zim.
Overall I liked the interview!
There seems to be many allegations against this man. There was a media report dated the 27 April which made numerous allegations against him, one appeared to be made by the chief of the Chiadzwa community. It's quite possible he may be replaced.
Whether the article or allegations are true is another matter!
I'll try again.
From previous articles I've read, this guy has been under investigation for various issues. It appears from this media report that he is stepping down, unless I've read it wrong. May be he is giving his last plead of innocence.
It will be interesting to see how things develop with this, while we are waiting for the Romania project.
All in my humble opinion, goes without saying, dyor.
One positive and one negative from today's RNS.
Positive.... They are still focused on Slovenia. I don't think they will walk away before the appeal! I have said before I will give up on this if they do.
Negative... The appeal is going to be another 3 months. That means it will have took well over a year to make a decision. Is this legal?, I ask myself. I have been here well over 4 years and I'm still waiting for these permit decisions, I'm tired of the waiting for the Slovene authorities.
With respect I don't agree. If the permit is awarded we could be pumping gas within a very short space of time and be cash flow positive. The license renewal would be some time away, and there would be no justification for them to not renew it unless we were in breach of that licence, which we would be if we were awarded the permit and then took legal action against them. Going to court having been awarded the two permits makes no sense. We now have a government that is only a few months old and should we win the appeal and then receive the permits, this would send out a completely new message to us and any other company that is interested.
However winning the appeal is the difficult part, but we do have six independent advisors to the government on our side!
With respect I can Imagine management not wanting to produce in Slovenia with the wells that don't require permits, but not with those that do. If we receive this permit, (I am struggling to imagine that happening), nevertheless if we do, I can see many companies wanting in on this.
Millario… Those have been my thoughts exactly!
With regards to the two statements that have been made recently, surely one of those has to be untrue. If ARSO have softened their stance regarding the full EIA and AST are considering selling their asset. This would make no sense at all.
Oh yes, and we are still waiting for the appeal decision from the courts! (over 10 months now)
The Ethiopian Government should set a date at which the ANS funds need to be received. They need to make it clear that if no money is received by given date an alternative investor will replace ANS. Harry obviously has no power to do this, but he should make it clear that shareholders are angry at the current situation and any functioning business requires timelines, a business can not be expected to make plans without dates and dates that are breached.
I know it would satisfy me and I'm sure many long-term shareholders if we were to receive and view official documentation from the EG. This should state their intentions to back the project financially should ANS fail to provide the funding by a specific time. If this can't be done then shareholders should be entitled to know why.
