I have to say TomE without you this forum was not the same and something was missing.... welcome back !
good post nigel ,also think tw is undervalued and will watch closely if we go below 170 today if so i will top up to lower my average. just one advice Nigel, dont borrow money to invest because if doesn't go as you planned you will loose twice... good luck
i got american sp 500 fund with divi once a year, , i rather them taking money than units, how do i inform them to charge me money?
Bamps
That is handy to know you are with them as well as i want to ask you couple questions, We just setup ISA on HSBC and bought first lot of sp 500 fund , . Account charge fee is 0.39 % fund cost is 0.06% and charge cost 0.01%
Do you know if those fees are paid annually?
and also there is no mention of quarterly fee to have this account , is there any other fee you are paying?
Nigel
Agree about HSBC , i am personally with IG but my missus has got Isa setup in HSBC(it is called global investment centre) and dont think there is any fee included , maybe because she dosnt have any shares there just a fund , HSBC is good to deal with
i am with IG and not very happy with changes, i dont want to feel pressured to trade just to save on account fees but at the moment that is what i am doing..... thinking to switch but not sure if i have to sell my positions or i can transfer them somewhere.... i was looking into trading 212 platform ,, account fee 0 trading fee 0!!! i think they make money on bigger spread. any views on this platform?
bamps and others,
as we touched subject of accounts, i am with IG but they recently decided to charge me £24 per quarter ...... does anybody knows any platforms with free account fees???
good job ! i have to say that i have done this as well once at my local asda , i have complained about red Leg not being on the shelf's, every little help to shift those bottles to customers especially now as the
weather is nice
never come across TVM ... interesting but what is TVM for Distil(i am not disputing your comment , just want to know for educational reasons as i am also invested here and want distil to go all the way up)
picstock , my purchase was also 202, now the biggest question is when to get out , are you holding this for year or two, or maybe you got specific sp in your mind?
is this a good time to invest in TW , or is worth to wait for further drop?
i bought it for 202,6 , nearly timed the market:) (for now anyway) dividend should push the price higher over the next month...

hi do you think we are due for crash or recession in 2018 and if so how would this affect already battered tw sp?I other words is it worth selling or holding throughout recession?
how did you get pe of 62.5? according to lse sp stand at 2.2 divide 2.2 /.0.03(from annual report) give you 73...
I truly hope this is the case as they currently have PE of 73 if you use numbers from last annual report.....So in terms of assets they look expensive but i do believe they have higher brand value than current mcap
if someone would say to me 2 months ago that i will be able to buy TW for 178 i would laugh in his face..... stock market---funny old game, i know is hard to press buy button now but if you patient enough you will get rewarded soon
spot on Tommy, if we talking supermarkets i got one for you, when you go to your local supermarket you buy what on offer, 2 for 1 half price , or buy 3 for £10, we looking for offers, it amazed me that some people dont do that with shares although there are some exceptions, few months ago i was looking at the Ocado but the price looked to dear for me (£5 at the time, and very high PE proved that) but some expensive stock can be even more expensive and they just will keep going now price of ocado £10 i would have doubled my money.
i have bought in here few weeks ago and paid 202.6 , so far (touch wood) so good and i might accidentally timed the market right and bought at bottom prices.... time will tell, happy to sit wait and pick up 5.5 % divi in august...
