Taken profits and for now im out for now, the economy is in my opinion going in one direction only, down and theres no sign of the S.M.R. news coming before next year, and allready this government is in trouble and the immediate future looks very uncertain, so for now i will re-invest elsewhere.

After reading the telegraph link you posted, it sums up totally the situation this country is facing , the reality of our governments past and present inability to take the necessary steps to ensure we have self sufficency for our energy needs, we face the possibility of power outages in the very near future, and then and only then will the powers that be may actually recieve the wake up call they need to start buiding the S.M.Rs that we need NOW not in 10 years time, they have even roped in the T.V. companys nowadays to tell us the amount of wind/ solar energy is contributing on a daily basis, they may have a problem in the next week as a cold snap is forcast and they wont want to tell us how much electricity they are having to buy from europe at the same time, to keep the lights on, they are failing this country bigstyle, and instead of creating industry growth and wealth are squandering a golden opportunity to be world first on creating a system that would be the envy of the world Shame on them and their complacency to do the right thing.

yes i read it earlier, it means nothing, its a statement telling us what we knew weeks ago, that s.m.r.s will not commence production until a further tendering process takes place ,and may if any of the companys request it could be pushed further back, its total bull**** from the government and as stated kicking the can down the road.

Fair comment, i just cant recall this type of protracted process taking place for HS2 , which was the biggest (and still is) the worst case of squandering of public money on what has turned out to be the biggest white elephant ever perpetrated on the British publics finances in history.

So now begins the who will make it for the least amount of money phase ? and theyve got six months to decide how much they will reduce the costs by to enable them to win the contract so as to be able to supply these S.M.R.s ( the money for ongoing maintainence throughout the life of these reactors being the prize) im sorry if i seem suspicious about this process,its because I AM, its been a buggers muddle all the way ,and im still not 100% convinced about who will win, do we really trust this government with our money and also decisions of where to spend it ?.

It has now emerged that they will be asked to submit a final tender for GBN to consider before the ultimate victors are chosen.

It is understood that GBN is aiming for these tenders to be submitted by february, but that too could be pushed back if the companys ask for more time. this says it all regarding the lethargic and ludicrous process that is taking place.

Wel l it looks like we will have to hope that the trading update gives us something to celebrate as it does not look like miliband is going to shower us with good news, the current situation looks anaemic regarding the winner of the beuty contest thats taking a eternity to decide, being judged by the most challenged beuty contest judge on earth, (should have stuck to food tasting). its a case of Quo Vadis.

Im afraid that the urgency regarding putting this much needed infrastructure in place is pathetic, the moneys allocated today are for the next tax year, and there was no mention of S.M.Rs ,and we are no nearer a announcement about contracts being awarded, this looks like being bogged down by red tape for the immediate future,and obviously Reeves totally ignored tufans warning given yesterday regarding dragging their feet, so i think maybe the future is in europe for R.R.
