If Omi was purely Colombian then whoever wanted the assets would likely bid for Omi.
With Omi now across Argentina and Brazil too “if” the Colombian assets were bought out the cash for the assets would go into Omi’s coffers at which point Bod might declare a special divi or might re-invest or possibly burn and waste the proceeds on exploring Arg/Brazil.
You see the JV’s make a bid for the whole of OMI less likely and more complicated, keeps Brad salaried and free to explore elsewhere.
Don’t take what Brad tells you at face value imo.

Chicken I could agree with the tortoise/hare analogy if he wasn’t do damn decisive and quick with his options package and subsequent lock em in low activity. No flies on him on that subject:
The JV’s do nothing for sentiment other than give impression Brad is busy doing something requiring much time and funding and longer odds than Colombia imo.
Quite frankly I wish he wasn’t and that OMI remained pure Colombian, it might have meant less newsflow but would also have meant less potential dilution and make a bid for Omi on the whole more viable.

That’s why I’ve changed my view on this. Won’t be shook out at silly prices but at 25p won’t be in love with the fundamentals either…

Shame Brad couldn’t have waited a couple of weeks/months to place option package on the market when the stock had an ounce of sentiment behind it.
He’s basically handsomely rewarded himself for SP failure, handing over keys and given himself a big pat on the back for the long odds jv’s.
I just hope negotiates the JV “material newsflow” as skilfully as he’s managed his own position.

But this is AIM, he’s no different to 90% of aim CEO’s from my experience and it’s the game I chose to play so now for me it’s about how I play the cards I chose.

In a way there’s an argument that you might as well allocate the options now. Sentiment has been so low for so long it can’t get much lower imo.

It it hits 8 I double down if it doesn’t then at least my current holding isn’t too far offside by penny share standards and I just wait it out.
Not a great situation as I will have to break some of my own exposure rules to get this avg down but I still believe this is THE gold explorer to be in. Have some others but they simply highlight the relative strength of the case here.
Months and months of frustration followed by disappointment and if sentiment could go below zero we would be minus.
However the fundamentals are unchanged (ok Omi no longer in control and at the mercy of the big boys for data release but this point is also a huge positive too).
Capital structure has stayed intact too so a little bit more time will reduce those willing to sell down here.
8p would be a steal imo and we’re not far off.

At what price would you throw the kitchen sink at this? Personally I’m willing to double down at 8.
Hats off to anyone that’s taken losses and in position to buy more stock or same back for less money.
My strategy remains the same looking for 25p exit and if I can get avg down to 12-13 I’ll take more and run an uncomfortable risk

Star: Yep equities first and foremost sums it up succinctly.
The sentiment towards equities for the last 12 months has been non-existent from where I sit.
Thought I was being clever only holding some gold stocks and although they will probably come good it’s a lesson learned on market timing. Should have taken 100% cash out of market instead of the 50% I left in gold stocks.

Will buy more of these if they go to single digits again as the main positive for me this year is that he didn’t dilute down here. I was convinced he would and my apologies to all for posting my incorrect beliefs on that point.

Good luck all let’s hope for some sentiment to return to gold equities soon.

I also voted against certain resolutions through Barclays and my votes against weren’t registered either. At that point I thought I just can’t be bothered with this. I’ll hopefully see 25p and a nice profit within 12 months, can’t get excited about fundamentals in these market conditions and we really don’t know if we are getting the full story due to “materiality”.

Would have, could have, should have sums it up here for me. Somehow gold is roofing and there’s no interest in gold biased equites….YET

Surely either gold price drops right off or equitesive right up soon as the disconnection between the two is becoming increasingly irrational

Exercise price is to be at market depending on the price on the day.
I believe Brad is going to dilute and the opportunistically grant them on a day of SP weakness. Others here think a placing is out of the question.

I’m bullish on gold. My point really was that I don’t think interest rate rises will smash gold price. My choice of phrase re keeping lid on could be viewed as negative but wasn’t my intention.
If 2500 my expectations would be surpassed but I wouldn’t actually bet against that happening.

I think rate rises will merely keep a lid on gold as inflation is rampant vs gradual rate rises.

Gold bounced hard after the first rate increase when traders realised the ass wasn’t going to fall out of it.

Yeah but we all know about the assets potential. It’s question marks over the cap structure that’s killing it imo.
Cash balance can immediately be reduced by a million as JV finally agreed post period. Then the second JV going to require a buy in payment along with what Omi will need to spend on the two JV’s to modestly advance each project in year 1.
Throw in the existing cash burn and fact that Brads coming to London.

Reason I haven’t topped up my 17 ish average is because I reckon he’s going to dilute. Still think at some stage this year SP will test 25/warrant exercise level but Brads cunningly moved the goal posts to suit his needs rather than protect capital structure.

Yeah his other JV’s might come good but I think most if they are honest are here for the Colombian assets with the majors JV.

A rare situation whereby Brad spreading the risk is actually increasing it imo. Did my research thoroughly but you just can’t account for human behaviour.

Love the Colombian assets not keen on Brads extra activities.
Company goes from being a rare explorer (cashed up for the foreseeable and costs payed by partners) to another cash hungry early stage with promising assets.
It wouldn’t bother me as much if he had skin in the game but he’s making it his plaything. Not feeling same about the fundamentals and will exit first time stock has a run at 25 then re-assess.

Why deliver short term value to the SP with current assets when you can deliver long term value by muddying the water with JV’s and get salary and perks for 5-15 years in addition and write yourself options like your printing money?

Still think there’s fantastic upside but he’s already capped it with the option package and now he’s probably going to dilute and justify with JV’s.
Ultimate insult will be if he quickly grants the option package on back of dilution weakness to get lowest poss strike price. Given his attitude to comms last year I wouldn’t rule anything out.

Look at his last share purchase, shows you how he feels about putting cash in/taking cash out.

It’s a treasure trove that’s for sure but still firmly locked with the permit.

Imo The 90 day dd is a cover story for giving doid a few months to exert influence and secure Pinjam construction permit.
Would you invest 10 million US without the necessary legal approvals in place?

The revenue increases are too slow against cash burn, you don’t need to be a mathematical genius on this

Sincere question:
If they stopped spending so heavily on marketing what do you all think would happen to revenue/losses?
I believe they would drop/widen but only my opinion.
However if my opinion is wrong and revenues wouldn’t suffer as a result then why are they wasting the millions they can barely afford on it?

Last time I saw a CEO deflect losses by claiming they were basically optional was Wework Ceo. Look what happened there.

If EVE are suggesting it’s the brand building that’s causing the cash burn I would truly suggest the brands not strong enough and the money hasn’t been well spent there either, the sloth isn’t particularly likeable or memorable in my opinion
