I’ve been really critical of the bod but The Alan Rosenthal consistent buying is a mystery.

It seems his trading pattern is more mopping up than aggressive. Seems he is happy to take what he can everyday without moving the market so logically for him the lower it goes the better value he gets.

But there’s only value in a short term outcome and I wonder if he has always intended to make a low bid (leaving it as late as possible for best chance of lowest price being accepted).

If he always had a last minute lowball bid of a couple of million in mind it would make sense to just keep mopping up an average price as far south of that figure without showing your hand early…

Or he could be a massive risk taker but that’s at odds with trading activity imo.

It’s a mystery but it’s difficult to rationalise if no offer of any kind is forthcoming.

Sp activity does seem grim but then “if” a form of offer is made the lateness of it would not be surprising.

Tempted to bet a binary amount if the price goes lower tomorrow and AR continues mopping up

In this case the fire had already started while the bod tries to give impression it was just a false alarm and risks were under control.

But DG your assuming it was all going ok Based on what EVE were claiming (the numbers weren’t ok so I’m assuming it’s the narrative that persuaded you to hold)
The same narrative that told you “on track to break even” “choosing to be loss making”

Sorry for the losses and even more sorry that the bod burnt over 8 million pounds to moderately increase turnover on widening losses and then try and claim they had essentially completed their strategy.

So her and parfitt thought it a good idea to book a 12 month campaign on TV running from April.

They did this afternoon hence my physical purchase. Would have preferred a bet.

Thought I’d try and put a bet on this today but IG have blocked long positions again so just took 50k shares for a tiny bit of fun short term action.
Will prob take another 50k if it price weakens although don’t think it will.
Last time IG blocked longs stock exploded upwards so took a gamble again.

You spends months on end hoping to cash out and as soon as you do you feel left out!

In the very same rns that announced the FSP eve claimed that
“ eve has now essentially completed the three year rebuild strategy”

Forgive my cynicism but surely holders should ask if this was his how they were expecting things to stand?

If it wasn’t the position they planned for to be then how can they say it’s essentially complete?

If this is the position they planned for then what type of strategy is that?

So much contradiction from this co. If you look hard enough. I wish I held onto a single share so I could ask them:

“What position did you expect/plan for that you now claim is essentially complete?”

Glad to see SP moving back above last placing price and really good to see an undeniably positive rns (not before Tim’s either)
We might have seen the bottom now, I hope so but agree with Hawaii that it won’t be long before the buzz of these grades wear off and the “cost” hangover sets in.
Im still hoping (complete hope no evidence) that at JV will occur to avoid more shares being issued,
MTL still seem like a possibility to me as they stated in their interims that explo on some of their own licenses is being hampered by illegal mining.

His comments about buying stock were ridiculous. If the option package was to compensate CEO’s who can’t buy in closed periods then the no of options should have been closer to the number of shares you have actually been willing to buy. That might have been fair if your willing to accept the almost perm closed periods remark then he says it’s gettin old. It will get older

One of the more incompetent lifestyle CO’s as they Can’t even justify taking salary out as I’m not sure they are even giving the impression of doing much? If they could they would imo.

Relax and take your time Tim, it’s not as if the stock market is about to totally flush your valuation down the pan!

Can you imagine how bad this would look if they hadn’t sacrificed salary and paid themselves for the last few months of lethargy?

“Salary sacrifice scheme” has a much better ring to it than “we’ve wasted the cash, trapped ourselves in a dilution spiral and can’t afford to pay our own wages scheme”

All of that said I can look at the mcap and still think the iamgold JV prob underpins it. Ironically part of the business that pre-dates Tim and his bunch of bananas

I’ve had Carclo on watchlist since selling out last year. Tried a couple of trades around 30, first time had a quick rise to 45 so took profit. Second time still holding the baby.

Started building a proper position by my standards (watch out Goldmans and Schroders!)today.

I can see of course an issue with rising costs but with the mcap back at a mystifying and paltry 15 million these fundamentals strike me as excellent value.

They weren’t exactly token buys by the bod at x3 up from here..

Thought I’d end up buying on an up day at 21/22 so either just got a fantastic bargain or there’s a knife falling my way.

Think it’s a bargain because this sort of mcap previously was pricing this to fail. I don’t see that happening soon given recent “long term opp” comments and the sounder footing the business is now on.

GLA - not expecting massively positive trading statement but as long as trading hasn’t turned disastrous think this is well oversold

But 40p cash doesn’t mean 40p per share. If the market doesn’t like a transaction it will discount mcap against cash.
Just one example is Valeura whose mcap remained 50% of their cash position for almost 2 years as market just saw cash burn and didn’t like rest of biz.

At least Brad seems to be trying to insist on better protocol as far as Omi holders are concerned. Maybe he’s not totally in their pocket?

PP agree phase 2 is a given.

Rob you seem an educated investor from your previous posts (although I did think gold at 2500 this was lumpy!) hope I’m proven wrong between now and Dec but doubt it.

Do you really think a sale of the assets is the same as the sale of OMI?

Why wouldn’t the assets be sold for cash for Brad to explore arg and Brazil?

Sincerely interested in others views on this as I see a complete takeover as off the cards since the pfolio spread. I’m sure I’m being cynical but why is it assumed a sale of Colombian assets equals sale of Omi?
