The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
You posted a few days back that a question on fss is being posed today. Do you have details of time and how we can watch? Presume it's in the commons chamber as defence committee meets on Wednesdays?
As ever in this long running saga, it seems Daera and no gas caverns couldn't organise a p... up in a brewery.
Shockingly bad signals for economic growth. Why invest in Northern Ireland??
Anyway, at least we'll get FSS news by end of q4. And we now know the RNS machine is working :p

Have recapped on the question and answer again. The committee member quips that one of the losers appear to know who has got the contract (I.e. "navantia" have). I'm an optimist, but I reckon team UK know we have won it and are feeding the unions and press). Have a listen back - it's a question quite early on (10 mins in maybe), after the question around pilots for the f35. Don't quote me, but I'm liking this very much
Hi Chris, I think the committee member mentioned January. Preferred bidder will be before that so possibly the build contract will be wrapped up in January too. Stokey, hope that answers your question too. It was all over in a matter of seconds so not much info to get from it unfortunately
Ben Wallace not getting drawn in on question about fss going to Spain. Stated rumours of decision have been started by another consortium. My interpretation, team UK are fearing (maybe with substance) that it's going to them resolute.
Team UK not doing themselves any favours! Very positive imo without actually saying much
Ahhh typical distortion again from Ben at the mirror. He has consistently emphasised the only way to secure work for British workers is to pick team UK. Lobbying for the Scottish yards at its finest, whilst ignoring the benefits to Harl, BMT and UK subbies.
Thanks for sharing mcadder, also thanks Chris. Will look to watch the committee meeting. Could be a guddun!
Morning Stokey I knew you would bring sobering objectivity to my post haha. Either way re the JR it will be progress to have its day in court this month.
Does anyone have a date for it? The website link has been out of action for well over a month where you can view upcoming hearings.
Re the FSS, are you sure it requires an oral statement? If I recall the 30 mill carrier maintenance contract was in the papers at the weekend. So can it not also be the case for the FSS? Cheers and hope you are well
Morning all,
Well October went by with JWs timeframes for contracts slipping once again. It's disappointing as ever, but no longer a surprise.
Now we are in November, and there's 2 big bits of progress that isn't down to company timescales.
We could be getting news on the Marine License and the FSS this month and if either land, as I've said often, it's going to be company making.
Exciting times ahead....I hope! :)

LSE, thanks for the article links. I think this is very good news. Having the private industry creating their own roadmap that specifically mentions islandmagee is a very useful lobby group. It won't impact the ML JR but any support for the project is always welcome.
Great to hear Ben Wallace retains his post too! Gla
Bunsen those figures are incorrect. It's upwards of 1.7 billion and the 100 mill / 300 mill needs to at least be doubled in my opinion. Never a bad thing to be wrong with that amount of money coming our way tho :)
Russell I sincerely hope that the little birdy is correct! Company making if true. I also reckon navantia will be investing in the yards to get up to 4.0 standard so it will lead to huge fortune for the company and us PI's. So, let's wait and see. Hope a) it's not just a ramp and b) Liz Truss stays in power until the fss is announced so there's not yet more delay to the decision! Gla
Thanks for the replies East and Stokey. I think I'll accept The East's reply haha. Both good points well made in any case.
BP - hopefully we will get decisions on the FSS before q1. As mentioned previously it's a win win for Harl with big subcontractor work anticipated even if Team UK get it. I just hope we are able to report on how much subcontractor work we will get, otherwise what is great news will be deemed disastrous....can an SP go minus? (that wasn't a serious question lol)
Hi all
Just searching for any glimmer of news to stop the rot on the SP. So in that regard does anyone have an idea of how long the judge will take to announce their decision once the JR has taken place? Is it days, is it weeks?? I don't think I can take anymore of this depressing SP. We need the FSS and JR concluded asap.
Gla
Chris thanks for your report back, and Lottie too! Interesting points for me aside from all that we know already, was the potential for switching away from aim. Really hope your suspicion is correct on that one! I'm also pleased we will get the half year report out soon...then we can really determine the progress we are making. Thanks again and gla
