How does everyone feel about the chairman leaving? I think the lack of reaction reflects how anonymous he has been. No share purchases and now leaving when it gets too busy for him to concentrate on things he prefers to be involved in. I don't know who the next chairman should be but I don't think they have to do much to better the incumbent! Mcadder, thanks for posting. The mirror seem very swayed towards Bab****, but I sense a slight shift in favour of team resolute also in that article. Also notice how lovely it is to see THREE ships docked at Belfast on vessel finder. Gla
Hi glen I wish that were true! Basically when China announces something like this yes I will jump straight to the BB as I seek any kind of reassurance that my money isn't down the drain
Well this is going to be a kicker! Question is can moz find a way of providing electricity without suckling the teet of China? Does Hanno have a plan b?? Sp is going to take a hammering I fear. Any silver linings anyone? What's plan b?
Thought so Stokey thanks. In any case, I firmly believe it bodes well we are getting a mention. Time will tell :)
Thanks for the posts guys, I'm struggling to find a link to the 1000 apprentices Boris quotes. That's a huge number. Could it be we have retained details of 1000 applicants for future positions? Or has Boris linked it to the 15000 positions kindly posted in links below? Or is Boris as usual just making it up? In any case, it's a clear sign we are still front and centre to ship building going forward, so although u have to take what Boris says with a pinch of salt, it's surely hugely positive to continue to be mentioned by the PM and the shipping tsar than not at all
Hey all, good call ttny, certainly keeps things interesting :) my shout is 64p. This is based on 50 mill profit from 250 million flagship (to be announced in December) plus 30 mill for equity stake in islandmagee (assuming a 30 percent stake. Plus current value, that would equate to 80p but I'm thinking there may be 20 percent dilution along the way. This is fag packet calcs and would love to know more learned views on what we would be worth if we landed the 2 biggies I've mentioned. Would be ace if someone said my calcs are way under valued! Have a great weekend all, after this week the future is brighter I feel :)

10 mins in...ML decision due any day! I'd interpret that extremely loosely given its the ML and the decision makers ability to never ever make a decision
No worries avyer, not had much to contribute over the past month or so but I thought I could help there at least. Hope everyone is well and thanks to all for the continued posts. Gla
Ok IL answer in a non jinxed way...play sing and hope an off her. Looking back on rns the last Mou with navantia resulted in team resolute 6 months down the line. The difference here is the Mou back then was announced 1 day after a play sing and hope and off her. So, it bodes well so far.
Don't say it!!! :P
Looks like that's the placing shares gone through at 12pm and 4.25pm. Wonder if they'll sell asap? If so downward pressure on sp unless we get good news. I've got my fingers crossed for the ML at 7am 2mo :D
Thanks for the replies. So if we haven't been incompetent enough to let the licence expire, there is potential for some kind of farm in to get the coal out the ground and sell it, if the coal plant doesn't go ahead. I think that's how I understand it. Well worth a question to pr lady or Hanno I reckon?
Oops sorry for that double post... here's the link to the latest fss article. Hope we are attending!

Hi Stokey I don't know the measurements at rosyth but UK defence journal know their nuggets so I assume their assessment is correct. Plus JW states in the PR that Belfast is one of 2 dry docks large enough to take the QE class. So presume rosyth is the other. Spud, great link, you beat me to it! Again for those on twitter, UK defence journal is worth a follow. There's also a new article about the fss that IL link. Hope everyone is well on here, not posting much these days as not much news is flowing. Hope that changes soon!

Hi all, I'm a long term suffering shareholder but don't think I've ever posted on the board. Do we own the coal reserves that will power the plant or would it just be used as part of some form of lease? If the plant doesn't go ahead who has the rights to dig up and sell the coal? If not nccl then someone somewhere must be keen to make money from it. The fact it hasn't already happened gives me a glimmer of hope that the project is not dead in the water from the moz government perspective. Thanks to the regular posters of the BB for all your contributions. Gla
This is an excellent appointment, carnival cruise and the highest of mod contacts, it's a superb appointment! If ever an Ned could bring something to the table to assist a company surely this one ticks many boxes. Gla
If the EU are swayed by this then it could lead to the UK government doing similar. Although our government hasn't shown too much support of industry so far in my view. Would be interested to know how this would fair against competition rules? Nice research, thanks lottie
Thanks Stokey much appreciated. Had a quick scan and will read more in depth later. Gla
