Rooky, coincidentally I was thinking today whether AFC will, or should, seek to sell its solutions via authorized exclusive distributors in each region, each of whom would pay a cash lump sum for the privilege (and then earn a commission with each sale). I get the sense that very few know about AFC - even the Japanese industrials on the Hydrogen Council didn’t - which no doubt the new PR boys will seek to sort out. It’s a massive job though.

I pity any potential new investors who may check into this board, only to see the usual small number of people castigate the company for everything under the sun. You may not have got all the answers you want but try focusing on the big headline for once. The brokers on the call used words such as “excellent job” and “very impressive”, with regard to the remediation work, which will largely be done by mid-Jan. I’ve no doubt buying activity will be very modest until it’s all put to bed, especially from IIs, but I fully expect a flurry of “Buy” recommendations on the back of this - and at this ridiculously low share price.

Well I think it’s very positive, in that the uncertainty has largely been removed and long term production unaffected. Just 4 months work to get back on track. Obviously the cost of the remediation is painful but the value of the project remains substantial.

And of course a couple of those might slip into Q4 this year if we’re very lucky. I guess we won’t be told of any MoU with potential Japanese partners under the new regime but another more advanced contract negotiation announcement might come out of nowhere, like Southern did.

About half the supposed buys could actually be sells for Bed& ISAs - the prices and transaction times are very close.

Great info Richlist. A PR company that intimately understands what a battery is and how AFC’s world works must be worth its weight in ...., well, hydrogen.

And just building on this, presumably the new electrode pairings must be manufactured by De Nora (after signing contracts) very soon to then be incorporated into the new stacks (after signing other contract) by that manufacturer, all before shipping in Q1.

How would that work? They bought at what - 10p?

As I see it, it will not be the swizzy plug and play containerised version (as negotiations with the fabrication company are are insufficiently advanced), nor will it be the new "high power density" version (which will take 12m to develop and is designed to pack the same punch into a much smaller footprint). It will be a one-off, based around the current BoP (which itself has advanced from the original Kore design), and which will be a ruddy great and heavy bit of kit designed to stay in one location.

Whilst we’re still not at the starting line, you do now get a real sense that we’re on the verge of something big - a containerised, modular, multi-fuel plug and play power generation system at competitive costs - with growing interest. (And how has Rennocks been persuaded to let that be mentioned?!).

Well this looks remarkably like a Quarterly Newsletter! I can only conclude that a fund raising is on its way. Good progress overall and at least we can expect two confirmations by Xmas - the Southern Oil contract and the stack manufacture arrangement.

Can you explain, Casapinos, why the mcap of the company would be substantially lower under your “full dilution and 15-18p” scenario compared to the level it reached when the sp was close to 40p - especially as the project will have been considerably derisked and advanced since that point?

The key is the definition of price sensitive information. They don’t have to release an RNS every time a technical advance is made because how the market will view that advance is subjective. How is it decided at what point an advance becomes “price sensitive”? It’s clear from the RNS last Q4 that lots of progress had been made and none was previously released - thankfully, because there’d have been endless releases of dribs and drabs.

To my knowledge, so-called price sensitive information must simply be released to the market in a fashion that is fair to all investors. It does not have to be released as soon as anything substantive happens! The electrodes ate testing well - RNS? No! They’re testing badly? RNS? No! They’re allowed to finish testing, discuss a takeover, tell AB he’s useless, get well advanced in contract discussions, all without the need to issue an RNS.

Pointless activity, this trying to find subtle meaning in the precise words used in today’s RNS. Big picture - procurement done, funding commitments can now progress, on track for Q1. It it takes an extra week, or even month - who really cares? Good progress, ToRP next please.

What motivation do MMs have to keep the price down? If sellers aren’t around at 6p or lower, why wouldn’t they increase the price to tease out sellers at higher levels? After all, they make their money from trades...

Surely the most obvious scenario is that the volume of hydrogen was never totally clear at outset and Southern Oil are now finalising their end of the study to sharpen this up? No need to invoke exceptionally low costs or hydrogen sales.

Given they had enough cash (or so we thought) for normal operations, this could well mean good news and a sign of a significant order or gearing up for a big push to become EBITDA positive this financial year, as mentioned in the final accounts. Subscription price was probably as could have been hoped for, a big vote of confidence. Puts another floor underneath the share price.

Well, BH was clearly an enormous error and I tend to agree with those who believe DB saw a chance to make a quick buck and look a hero. Hopefully a case of lesson learned and a return to better thought out strategy and execution.
