I really don’t think anyone is disputing that the current SP seems very low for what assets SCLP has to be monetised but the question to you have to ask is why?
Imo partly due to the previous need for funding and the fear that it would be done at a much lower level.
Fair dues to the BoD for securing a great deal which gives them a large cash runway at a better than expected price with good new institutional backing by Redmile and continued validation and confidence by Vulpes so yes a big tick in the big for the BoD.
Equally imo one of the reasons for the low SP is the ability of the BoD to progress the science into evidence to produce data and therefore monetise and validation of that is what they have stated for years.That to me is a fair criticism to level at the BoD based on their words and strategic intent to provide the necessary data and evidence of progressing external validation.
Appreciate others may have a different view and that is fine and at least now they have the cash runway to achieve all their objectives but based on past performance I contend that the jury is still out at best on whether to give them a total endorsement moving forward.
We need to remind ourselves of a few facts rather than “ interpretations” or opionind.
1.They did not win the GC so the expert judging panel felt the work of “Operation Blueprint” was not an absolute given priority.
2.We are coming up to five years since the SCIB 1/ Combo was first talked about going into trial.We still not have had FPI in announced.This on the Immunodoy platform which at the time RG talked about representing 90% of value of SCLP.
3. We have heard nothing official or concrete about the outcome of work of the Bion Tech collaboration.
4. Similar comment as to work with Karolonska Institute.
5. How long as it been promised for Modi 1 to get into clinic.I am more supportive of BoD in this case as the technical challenges to overcome the manu issue have been difficult.
6.Little progress in SCIB2 but again this is mainly down to CRUK.

I hope this post is taken in the vein it is posted.It is not to purely to have a go at the BoD but hopefully just reinforces the need that they really need to progress the science,generate data and monetise the assets far quicker than they have done in the past and I do believe this is fair criticism of the BoD but others will undoubtedly disagree.
The presence of Redmile and Vulpes should help ensure that SCLP stays on track abd I do believe there is a great future here.
But we imo need to remind ourselves of the past in order to try and oredict the furniture with more confidence.

Funny our training session was on analgesics this afternoon.
Amitriptyline Mainly vs nerve pain like neuralgia, migraine etc rather than the NSAIDs that target mainly OA.
So yep can see a role vs sciatica as not so much relative inflammation.
Hope it does some good and does have other properties if pain is causing other issues.
I suffered from chronic pain due to a old rugby injury and did not realise how much it effected me until the surgery sorted it out.

Agree Moonparty about no safe stocks but AIM pharma has been absolutely flying during lockdown and you have to adapt to the changing circumstances.
The huge increase in QE and upcoming US election imo creates a fantastic opportunity to gain but it is against a big disconnect between the stock market and the likely economic situation in a few months.
Most other asset classes are showing very poor returns so it really is a case of choosing very wisely.
But well chosen AIM investments short ,medium and long term look an attractive bet for me abd then pile into larger caps once the inevitable crash comes.

On all other boards the possibility of a “ takeover” even if it meant taking it private would be seen as very good news which easily explains the interest in here this morning.
Plus of course the excellent rationale behind the raise expressed by DE in his post.So all very good .
We are fully funded to develop the science by a “ Premier League” Investor represents a “Black Swan” event.That is an excellent analysis by a respected and informed contributor.
I see even the “ remote possibility” of a takeover as being a real positive as it certainly will give a huge boost to current SP which presumably most of us would welcome.
It would also provide a great endorsement of the science here.
If Redmile had to buy the extra shares on the open market and that was signalled to the market the SP would rocket but to try and pretend there is no risk of this being taken private and the BoD trying to fight it is imo very unlikely.

Really good to get NXCs thoughts and very positive they were so when someone in his position says Redmile are premier league then that is a great sign.
As others have said the caveat about taking SCLP private is one which he does consider but am sure would be done on terms that the BoD would be happy with so not sure it would be “ hostile” .
The BoD can easily be heavily recompensed by new options etc so I do think they can be won over and hence they are unlikely to need to put a defensive strategy in place.
When the potential benefits are huge as highlighted by some there is always the possibility that someone wants to ensure they get a big slice if it which could make it very attractive to go private .
Am sure Diggle amongst others would be happy to support this assuming it could be done at a price they were happy with.
That is the sticking point as obviously different people have different ambitions and if people thought this was likely to happen as RW said this would force the SP up so at least SH would get a decent price.
That is my main wish in an SP spike it does protect people against a low ball offer.
Overall though this was a great post and underlines the excellent capital raise it was and does give CH the backing to generate the data they need to monetise the assets.

They would have no choice if Redmile went over 29.9% and had to make an offer at highest SP in preceding 12 months and providing they had reached the necessary majority with Diggle and other major SH support they could take it private.
They can easily issue new options in a private Company to BoD if necessary to gain support.Whether Lindy accepts or not I am sure they can either secure some agreement or manage without her if absolutely necessary.
As I said NXCs comments are very reassuring but I just hope for at least a big spike in SP so that if the one fear he has comes to fruition at least all SH will her justly rewarded

Yes really interesting post by DE and gives a ringing endorsement to the future here.
Only hope is a big deal at some point and a huge spike up in SP just to counter the one threat he poses of Redmile taking it private on the cheap.
