My guess is the MMs have been pushing the price up to buy in large amounts of stock to bulk up their stock holdings. ( selling was ahead of buying in last month I think whilst price has been climbing ). Now its a question of timing assuming their buying in is anticipating some news flow which will enable them to jack price up above this weeks high and enable them to sell bought in stock at even higher price. Low bid is to discourage any further selling by punters until their anticipated news flow triggers their little money making scheme..............I guess............actually I havnt a xxxxing clue when it comes to MMs

Also says there is a buyer sniffing. The big boys at the top must also be thinking pension ?? Dobson and his pal

Yeh..........just read the RNS and I think I am right. They are putting things in place so we can fight a T/O to the point of not looking weak.........ie if we do roll over then we can secure a good price Distressed T/O are always about insufficient funds. So with our present loan facilities in place and the way clear for approach to shareholders for funds I don't think we will look like a pushover for some whistling carpet bagger. No doubt Oglvie will direct the drill bit to the shallow ore recently found .......This will spice up our valuation nicely.

Good point ref shareholders rights .......but I am thinking there may be a a T/O in the mists on the horizon..........hence they are cleaning these aspects up. When they formed this committee my gut told me they were preparing the ramparts for an assault...........not that they wont talk to the invaders.........they are if anything pragmatic and NOW is a good time for the invader. ie plenty of low cost cash about and gold is temporarily out of favour but for how long ..........we wont have long to wait me tinks. But Mogo this is more your line of things.........I didn't think we were short of cash for the next couple of years ? You say...........?

Agree !!.......... I think one piece of news we had some time ago which didn't get enough comment was the exercise of the Algerians State Oil Companies option to buy our last offering of 18% tranche. For me that plays to my suspicion that AT is very much bigger than we have let on. Algerians will know the true worth and maybe this is the best way for them to gain access.

equivalent to the anticipated £500 todays price.........there will be many stale bulls looking to exit at this price. That will be after we have negotiated £3.75 which was the price the Spanish sold out of AT. So those that took up their shares may want to take some profit shortly there after. If my sums are right

Yes I sometimes think that the MMs deliberately manipulate the price posting ie spread 177 to 178 and take a buy at 178.........don't show it to the puta then 10 minutes later move the spread up to 178 to 179 then 5 mins after that tell the puta about the trade 15mins ago. The puta thinks it must be a sell cos the price is 178 which is the selling price at time the deal is logged. In my opinion MMs are prone to do this when they are in the mood to try lifting the price. ie try to pretend the trading is going one way and move the sp the other. sneaky AIMHO of course and I known naaththeengge !!

Strong and steady rise ..........looks like MMs are testing the water presumably with the future news flow in mind. Little volume but importantly no selling into strengthening sp. Good call carp and ta for post.

I guess we just have to wait for our ducks to line up. Big money will push us north and that means peoples reputations. So they wont put that on the line until they are quite sure. So 2/3 of way down the hole aint good enough. At depth some young spotty chancers will take a pitch one way or tother but the very big money wants the results of the well log. First base is bottom of hole. In MHO there is nothing going for us at the moment except the approach to TD in Kurdy and the winding up of the court case. A favourable outcome in both will see us at 300p at least in my opinion

Agree.......Melrose have been slim pickings.......it's not possible to find a high point or a sweet spot in theirupboard.......just problems and guess work. Seems to me the merger was a cultural union rather than a merger of two competing assets. Anyone can disagree but tell us the great asset they brought to the table.

Just like pushing a lump of wood under water it bobs up to high then settles back down, Also as with gold price over last 10 years.........just bobbing up. Fed arnt to bothered about QE ........ie theybarnt in a hurry to take it of as no sign of inflation ........but there will be, It is however their intention to inflate the debt way down to a manageable level.........so they will QE away to hearts content as long as there isnt sign of hyperinflation.

I am not recognising awards of drilling rights as strong catalyst to sp rise........but interested to see the take on it here. I don't know what oil companies pay for drilling rights but I have had the thought that if these rights are sold at a good price the income will help the Govt pay down the debt owed to Oil Companies. So all feed to the mill.
