As they ( China ) come up for air and pause for thought Commodity prices are drawing back. I expect them to firm up a bit within a year or two. Its relavant for Yamana as they produce copper as well as gold.

I'me also scratching for reason. 1) Mkts are S H one T Y as people have to sell to pay of their credits. 2) Its that time of year though we are north of ST Ledgers day. Unfortunately with the wealth Managers back from the Bahamas they are having to find funds to buy out of dodgy possitions..... so they have to sell some good shares. 3) The big chart for gold shows a long overdue visit down to the long term trend so until it visits $770 ish I dont think it will feel like zipping north. 4) Finally with all the worries people have about their general security there aint much time to think about brave new investments. On the plus side When it settles down there are millions of people who have learnt a lesson and like the Japanes a couple of years ago; they are likely now to include gold in there investments. Gordon's brave new world of central bank dominated cyber space finance has probably been hit below the water line. The twat sold all our gold. How stupid was that?????? My long term prediction for gold is $4,600 oz in 10 to 12 years ( Wealth warning I'me not an expert )

Some bad stuff coming here. Press reports of glut of products onthe shelves and likely to get worse with slow down - recession. Also some scientific reports likely to show some adverse effects on environment and wildlife caused by high levels of radio waves in our Urban environments. To wit the demise of the cute likle house sparrows. Any one old enough to remember gangs of house sparrows skirmishing on the pavements over bread crumbs will have wondered why no more. Well some boffin will atribute it to the arrival of the mobile phones wifi internet and remote meter reading. I think we will accept deaths from brain tumours by the thousands to keep our phones ( as we do with the motor car ) but the threat to wild life will be a little more difficult to negotiate. SO if you are into chips try to get a spread of applications which for me excludes ARM for now but never say never.

I see a big dump 5 minutes after closing ie 16.35pm. I'me never clear about the meaning of the timing but looks to me that in the last few we've turned sellers.

Anyone care to make an entry. Press reports talk about big capital expenditure but nothing to show for it in the way of additional business.. General Electric spring to mind and Stirling. (Massively o overpriced purchases resulting in huge wealth transfer out of the Co into another Co and wipeout on share price of Co spending the money and big share price invrease on Co receiving the money. Its not unreasonable to speculate as to which shares might have been held by the friends and relatives of the directors of the spending Co. So does anyone know if our funds are being transfered out of the Co on bull s h one T contracts. When did Colt directors last make significant buys.

You will need years of it if you are in this share (not less than 5yrs probabaly). There is nothing anywhere near market with years of drilling negotiating planning aghhhh. The money in the bank isnt for you share holder its for the Co directors and Managers salaries and other ''expences'' which usually have a deminus with three zeros on it. Go for nearer prospects which are about to take something to market. Exploration is a very long game played to provide salaries for............Look at companies like African Copper, (I dont have a holding yet but intend to as soon as I get some wonga lined up) They expect to have product to sell this year. Not brilliant grade but better than average. Its in the doldrumms just now because mining is at the moment.. The positive is it is totally focused on production and the money is from the Lion Ore stable. I am not recommending it to anyone but check the share price history, now might be good???. The webb site has come off recently and they have changed Managers so they could be short of money which might mean a call for money. As always caveat emptor

The MM is a bit simple if he thinks he can bump the price up on the basis of that news. After all we have been here done that etc.. Show us the MONEY It aint there. I wouldnt put my dough into a share so some director can use it to fund his hobby/interests

When its window dressing. I refer to the three red sells of 1.15M on 21 and 22 July (see trades) They may well show the price of the deal but its historical. So with current prices (bid and ask) loaded next to it and maybe under bargain conditions it may appear as a sell when it may have been a buy. We have no way of knowing.

But of course you cant expect them to make a loss, Here it is, lots of solid buying recently with three big deals around 1M each, and very little selling other than trivial background noise. And the share price drops !! ? So we can be sarky, contrary and disbelieving. Ponder the thought that this is often a quiet time for gold but it seems to me to have held up well. In the Autumn I think we can expect to see price of product advance, under pined by all the usual stuff but also Eastern investors getting anxious as their stock markets fall and doing what comes naturally and turning to gold. So whats possitive?? Well jolly good for the microminer and the front end loader but the message here is that valuable personnel are wafting about on surface when they should be underground working on getting the gold out and jacking up ore reserves. Thats a Management issue. Anywhere but underground
