£60m mcap company.
$230m on bonds trading at 25-40%
Net free cash† of $106.2 million at 30 June 2020
Hypothetical scenario.
If i managed to:
-buy 50% of the bonds up at 30-40% ($115 book, costing me ~$40m)
-then put an offer in to buy the company @ 5p/share i would have to buy the remaining bonds at 100% of book value, costing $115m for the 50% i dont own. ($155m total)
Bonds : $155m - $106m net free cash = net cost of $49m (£38m) to me, $230m of bonds sorted.
Equity : 5p / share = £100m
+ Admin fees.
Total offer would cost me ~£150m, if i can buy up more bonds or equity for cheap the total cost drops more, i could potentially drop the total cost to £100m if i managed to buy a good chunk of both.
Then i have an oil company currently pumping 13-14kbpd, so i issue a new bond for £200m, or decide to float the company and repay myself every penny that it cost me and have plenty of cash for running the company.
