Hi clever investor, my expectations are for the SP to fall to mid to low 90's during the course of this week. After which over the course of Nov I am hoping for gradual increments upwards, pending news on the UK gov airport test/quarantine rules plus vaccine updates. As a long term investment I think the current SP of around 100 is a good entry level/investment opportunity, if you have the patience.
I think the UK gov have lost their grip. It is becoming farcical how they are handling this pandemic. An economic disaster for some industries. They could at least allow the private sector tests to go ahead on a small scale, on a trial basis. Test facilities have been idling in place at Heathrow for some time now, Frankfurt Airport are up & running with airport testing protecting their businesses & jobs.
From what I have read it is Han**** & Witty who need to be persuaded on the merits of UK airport testing. After reading this latest news I now think the UK aviation industrys fate now lies with a UK gov approved vaccine becoming available.
The travel sector could see a benefit rippling from these tests if as a consequence the number of covid infection cases are reduced. Less cases negates the quarantine requirement. There would still be a risk of contracting/transmitting the virus but the risk choice would be a decision for the traveller rather than the government.
Looking at the bigger picture, I think the rapid tests will assist in dampening the spread of virus, which irrespective of any invested interests will be a good thing for health services around the world & humanity as a whole. If we can better manage the virus it should help us to return to a new 'normal'. Which in the absence of a suitable vaccine is a good thing IMO.
Thanks for the update Shareholder 10. Some progress is better than none. Now that the devolved gov 1st ministers have raised concerns regarding the aviation industry there should be some traction in getting the aviation recovery strategy iniated ASAP. Long term hold here.
Below is a link to the UK gov support package I was referring to earlier in this message. Does anyone know when this is likely to be announced? Article does mention autumn, guess I will wait.

From the tone of the reply Cruz gave to the committee regarding the unions discussions I am expecting it to be a Yes. Do you have any idea when the UK government will announce a support package for the aviation industry. Cruz said time is of the essence & am pretty sure we have waited long enough. Need a plan & soon.

From the help section in Trading 212 it says we will be contacted by email as to whether we want to participate. I believe there is a link in the email message which actions the RI purchase. I guess we wait for the query.
